New calendar?

Do Credit card companies use a different calendar than the rest of the world?

I just got off the phone because I just got a statement from Best Buy and it showed a late payment. I usually dont even open it, I just send the same amount every month. Now you guys tell me if I have paid anything late...keep in mind the payments are due on the 21st of the month.

4-9-2007 payment electronically
5-17-2007 payment electronically
6-4-2007 payment electronically
7-20-2007 payment electronically (late fee of 29.00)
8-4-2007 payment electronically (processed as a late July payment to cover late fee last month)
8-31-2007 payment electronically (late august payment) WTF this was to cover Septmember +29 fee

NOW they say I still owe them for a September and AND October payment. angered.gif +29.00 fee

I screamed and yelled and got them to take off all but one late fee (the July one since it could have been a day late even though electronic payments are instantly taken out of my bank and into theirs)

Needless to say.....they are getting paid off and the account closed!

If I were to guess, I'd think this is probably managed by Capital One...

Jerks.

They make their real money off fees and penalties so they try to cause as many of those as they can.

My wife said the the old bank that got bought out, used to do this thing when processing checks that they got processed in daily batches sorted from largest to smallest. This way, if you had $200 in your account and had written checks for $210, $24, and $15, you would get three overdraft charges. If the two small ones would have been processed first, they would have cleared and it would have only been one charge. They did get caught doing that though they had to change to processing them in the order they were received.

They all like their fees.

I haven't had any problems with Capital one, but I had very similar issues (that I posted about) with MBNA.

I'm not sure, but that is the kind of stuff MBNA used to do to me.

When I was mailing payments, it didn't matter how much in advance I'd send the check. About every 3-4 months, it would be a day late. Whenever I'd call they would always blame the mail.

I thought I had them beat then when they got online and I started making my payments that way. I thought there was no way they could say I was late. After several months of them not getting any fees from me, they claimed I didn't make a payment. I KNOW without a doubt that I made the payment, I remembered doing it but I didn't make note of the confirmation number. "With no confirmation number, we have no way to prove you made the payment." I said "You mean since I didn't save the confirmation number, I have no way to prove that I did make the payment that you deleted to get the fee."

I hate them all!!!!

Sounds like something they would do...that is why I started making my payments directly through my bank at least then I have them on my side. I give them enough money every month....they dont want to lose me.
