I have Best of the 80s on now. I would love to listen with you all if we could find some stations we all can check out. The music definitely brought us closer- at least some of us!smile

Yup, 365 it is good, mostly 50's 60's stuff, definately a change. I usually only listen to it when I am cleaning or need something to shake a leg to. smile

Since I'm home from work now, I'm listening to some Zeppelin, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and Rob Zombie.  But I like Ruby's idea of coming up with a station we could all listen to.  smile

I stumbled across a Christian station that I really like a few weeks ago. If you are familiar with the Christian music side of things, they play a lot of Hillsong, David Crowder, Lincoln Brewster, Delirious?, Michael W Smith, etc . . . mostly more upbeat stuff.

I'd been putting on headphones, stretching out the recliner and using that station to relax for a 1/2 hr or so before going to bed the last few weeks. That is what I'm listening to today. Its a 96k stream so it sounds really good, has a request system and now playing page, similar to FFR: http://www.schnell.ca/radioSchnell/

I've also got a bunch of tech podcasts to listen to that I'm sure I'll be catching up on over the next few days.


Edit: That station I mentioned is not on Live365, they are a direct listen station like the alternative stream of FFR was. You just "Play URL" in a player and enter the stream address directly.

My coworker listens to a Christian fm station every morning until 10. Let me say that they are just as bad as a regular radio station. I don't know many of the songs that they play but I am starting to - repeat, repeat, repeat!

FM sucks no matter the genre!

Yeah, there is basically a "top 40" for Christian music too. We have a translator (repeater) for a somewhat distant Christian station. I like their music pretty well, but I don't want all the other programs and stuff that they play throughout the day . . . I just want the music.

We have one local radio station that does both and AM and an FM signal. The AM is country and they do more of the local stuff like news every two hours, local events, the call in trade and sale show, etc. Unless I'm just needing to catch the news, I don't listen to it because its only country and its AM - yuck.

The FM is actually pretty good for variety but almost to a fault. I think they are trying a little too hard to catch everyone. The station owner is a huge blues fan so they play a lot of blues which I get tired of after a while. They do throw some classic rock and current rock in there too to try to keep the rest of us listening. Its better than nothing, but in that case, I'd much prefer just classic rock.

I was gonna give a different station a try but after much searching, I tuned in and the stupid player kept skippin' out. Plus much of what I would maybe try is all VIP. I went back to my Pandora station.
