Favorite Fall Traditions

Fall is my favorite time of year. It brings back memories of bonfires and hayrides. I think of football games and the county fair.smile

Fall brings back memories of going for week-end drives with my parents to see all the different colors of the trees. We'd always stop somewhere along the drive to pick up some apples and cider to snack on in the car. Many times we ended up in the Upper Peninsula and would rent a little cottage for the night. It was always an adventure because we never knew exactly where my dad was going to stop driving at.

I also love the smell of wood smoke. It brings back memories of going up to my granny's cabin....she always got a rip-roaring fire going in her wood burning stove to heat the place. Most of the time, we'd have to open all the windows and doors because it was so hot inside the cabin....and there'd be my granny, sitting right next to the wood burner because she was always cold.

I like goin for drives like out to my folks house, smellin the leaves burn in the distance, the colors of the leaves. its been awhile since I was able to go sit by my river because of all the construction, but the salmon come upstream and them suckers is like 18 inches long. fun to see. I'll go back one of these years.

There's no better time than fall for a camping trip. The cool night air mixed with the warmth of the campfire. I love it.

But my favorite fall tradition is watching the Packers run roughshod over the rest of the NFL.

GO BRETT GO!!! WOO HOO!!!! 33 - 22 PACKERS WIN!!!!

My favorite fall traditions center around holidays...
...carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds for Halloween...
...going to the coolest haunted houses in the area for a good scare and some laughs with friends...
...having a long and chatty Thanksgiving dinner with my family...
...officially starting the Christmas movie marathon! (I have A LOT to eatch and it takes about a month.)
