I beleive I may have already pointed this one out in an earlier shout box post, but it always bears repeating when the topic arises.
My NUMBER ONE pet peeve is how almost EVERYONE will say "I could care less" instead of "I COULDN'T care less".
I mean, "I COULD care less" would indicate you indeed care somewhat and THAT defeats the point of the very saying!
I'm always stunned at how many people say it wrong. I would bet that 9 out of 10 times the phrase is used on TV or in the movies they even say it wrong!
you know...on that case I could see it going either way...couldn't care less (can't go any farther)....could care less (you don't really care, but you could go even further)
I think it's a degree thing...couldn't = absolute (teacher always told me not to use absolutes unless you really mean it), could = small room to care less, but not much...
Check out the yellow scrolling part (Not the amber alert bar)...It advertises different "current" threads in the message boards, like things that tick you off the most, your worst date ever, and then it says..."...and much murch more..."
What does it mean to be much murch more?...it's not even like its a typo, as 'R' isn't anywhere near the 'U' or 'C'
Riggs, you wild & crazy guy...makin up new words like you were J K Rowling and her "Muggles" or something
