I beleive I may have already pointed this one out in an earlier shout box post, but it always bears repeating when the topic arises.

My NUMBER ONE pet peeve is how almost EVERYONE will say "I could care less" instead of "I COULDN'T care less".

I mean, "I COULD care less" would indicate you indeed care somewhat and THAT defeats the point of the very saying!

I'm always stunned at how many people say it wrong.  I would bet that 9 out of 10 times the phrase is used on TV or in the movies they even say it wrong!

you know...on that case I could see it going either way...couldn't care less (can't go any farther)....could care less (you don't really care, but you could go even further)

I think it's a degree thing...couldn't = absolute (teacher always told me not to use absolutes unless you really mean it), could = small room to care less, but not much...

but yes people do often say it wrong.

Wow, Another funny goof on the FFR Home page...

Check out the yellow scrolling part (Not the amber alert bar)...It advertises different "current" threads in the message boards, like things that tick you off the most, your worst date ever, and then it says..."...and much murch more..."

What does it mean to be much murch more?...it's not even like its a typo, as 'R' isn't anywhere near the 'U' or 'C'

Riggs, you wild & crazy guy...makin up new words like you were J K Rowling and her "Muggles" or something

One thing that urks me is when I request a song and then something happens to my server and I get kicked out the station.  While I am trying to get reconnected I see on the playlist that my song is being played or has just been played.  Son of .........  (this just happened to me).

Okay I need to shout so I came here.....

J just went to the bank to cash my check. Why is it on the busiest check cashing day, during the lunch hour the have like 2 tellers and 50 people.  You'd think they would try and keep a few more around during that time to take care of us customers.  Oh, and of course the tellers that were there had to spend at least 5 minutes chit chatting with each customer! UUUUUGGGGHHHHH

Are listening right now to the radio, is it just me or are there like 2 songs playing at once.  I hate that

The software had a stroke while I was out doing errands, but by the time I got back into the studio it had already righted itself, so all is good again.

I have a gripe about the post office.  They cut their hours, but charge more for postage.  I live in a small town.  Towns that are equal to our size have home delivery.  Our town does not offer it.  Since they do not offer home delivery and I have to get my mail, I have to PAY for a post office box.  People on rural delivery don't have to pay and they get service, but I live a half mile from the post office and have to pay for a post office box because they don't want to spend my stamp money on a delivery guy/gal.  This is irritating.  Our post office is only open on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  They are closed on weekdays before I get home.  If I have a package, I have to wait until Saturday to pick it up and hope like hell that I don't have a soccer game or other school event that my son has to attend, or I have to wait until the NEXT Saturday.  Then, they lock it after 3 p.m. on Saturday and you can't back in there until 8:30 a.m. on Monday (when I'm at work).  AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!

It is a vicious cycle with these people.  I am SO with Kramer.  Boycott the mail.  I'm buying homing pidgeons.

Wow, it's been a long while since we used this thread!

I may have complained about this before, but the memory isn't as sharp as it used to be and it's bugging me again.

WHAT IS UP WITH THESE SCAM EMAILS TRYING TO GET YOU TO GO TO THEIR BOGUS SITE AND GIVE THEM YOUR BANKING INFO!?!?!?!?

I mean, the scam has been around for years, but in the past they atleast stuck to accounts I ACTUALLY HAD!

I get 5 emails a day now for banks and brokerage accounts I've never even had!

Today I was asked for the 50'th time to update my information regarding my Washington Mutual credit card.  Before these emails I never even heard of Washington Mutual!

Man, the only thing worse than a scammer is a LAZY scammer!

The only thing worse than that is getting credit card offers in the mail.  I hate those.  We get at least two a day.  One for me, one for my husband.  What a pain.  Not only do you have to throw it away, but you practically have to shred the thing so that someone doesn't get it and call it in and use it.  You can go to their site and use the number they give you and start charging immediately.  Where is the safety in that?  The worst one is Capital One.  We have told them over and over that we don't want their card.  We don't want credit cards, period.  We still get them.  I think it is harrassment.  You know, that is one perk of being young and dumb.  When my husband and I first got married, we got into debt way over our head and ruined our credit rating.  Man, the only people that would offer us credit were people that had mistaken us for someone else (or had SUCKER written on their forehead).  Now that we have cleaned up our credit for a few years, the offers just roll in.  It almost makes me miss being in debt up to my ears.

I hear you all!  I'm so tired of all the credit card crap!  I'm also tired of all the porn email.  I've never even been on a porn site, and my email is so full of the stuff.  Pills to enlarge this and that.  It's just digusting!

Hey Tammers, nice to see you around again!

I gotta say, I've been lucky with the porn stuff, for some reason I never get that in my inbox anymore.  Maybe my service provider filters it out somehow.

I hadn't really thought about it until I read your post, but a few years back when I was with another service provider I always got stuff for the porn sites, but the last two years or so it's just been the scammer emails.

Another popular one I get atleast five times a week is a letter from some poor foreign person who has TEN MILLION DOLLARS or so that they can't access because of their oppresive government, so they offer me 30% if I'll just give them my bank account number so they can transfer the money into it (and then of course I'm supposed to take the extra 70% and send it to them).

People must REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY think Americans are fools!

GRIPE ONE:

Why the HELL do they ALWAYS put the OLDEST, SLOWEST checker on the express lane in the grocery store?  I got in line yesterday with four items in the "20 or less lane", there were four people ahead of me.

It LITERALLY took 18 minutes to get through the line!  THREE TIMES the clerk had an "over-ride" and had to get a key from the front desk to fix it.  Each time she SAUNTERED over to the desk, SAUNTERED back, did the overide, SAUNTERED back to the desk to return the key and SAUNTERED back to finish rining up the customer!

And I MEAN SAUNTERED, as if she were walking a tightrope and needed to be careful not to fall off!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

GRIPE 2:

I realize people sometimes in life need assistance (ie: Food Stamps).  I genuinly FEEL for these people who are down on their luck.

BUT WHY DOES IT SEEM, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, That this person doling out food stamps for their groceries are decked out in full length $300 leather coats, wearing designer sunglasses, a nice watch, nice shoes and get out to the parking lot into their FREAKIN' SUV!!!!  (this was the woman in front of me in the express lane today!)

How is it my TAX DOLLARS are going to pay for these people to get free MILK!

All together now...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!

I also like the one where you are waiting in Long, long, long, long, long, long, long lines at Toys'r'us because only 3 of their 13 checkout lanes are open...at christmas!!!

Then when they do open a new one after you've been waiting in line for 20 min, you go over to it with your 1 $9.99 toy, and some mom with 4 kids & 2 carts filled with stuff who had just come up to the checkout line, bulldozes in front of you, & you have to wait another 20 min for her order to be completed before you pay for your 1 item.
