Has anyone heard of or tried out Second Life yet? It is kind of like the name implies, you make a character which interacts with other characters. I just tried it out last weekend, and I don't quite have the hang of it yet. It's basically free, but you can buy the in game money for real money. And to own any property in the game it costs real money.
At any rate, the reason I bring it up is because you can stream music in the game. In the game, I went to a club and danced to someone's radio station. Give me more time to figure it out, but I think we could all make characters and hang out in the Freeze Frame lounge. But I am really a newbie, so I don't know how intensive this idea is, or how much money it'll cost, if anything.
I've never been in it, but I've heard some about it. Its really a big deal to some people. You can work to get Second Life money that you can spend on things within Second Life, etc.
"Tell me, does it move you, Does it soothe you, Does it fill your heart and soul with the roots of rock & roll? When you can't get through it you can listen to it with a 'na na na na', Well I've been there before" -"Been There Before" by Hanson
I checked this out for a while just out of curiosity.
I enjoy the fact that there are no bounderies, you can fly around this never ending land and check out peoples houses and stuff. A lot of them are open to just walk in and check stuff out.
It's interesting, but like Mz said, pretty time intesive, so I didn't have the patience to sit around.
It would be cool to build a virtual Freeze-Frame Radio studios though
Oh, one other negative that may have been fixed since I tried Second Life a year or so ago. It used a TON of my computers resources. Even with everything else shut down I often experienced very jumpy screen movement and eventual shutdown.
I would have to imagine they've fixed that by now though, or they wouldn't be continuing their rapid growth.
