Howdy.

I was going to start the thread a couple times, but I kept seeing others hovering around and I was thinking someone else would start it.

I'm still in my cookbook hunt. I scored last night. I found one seller that had quite a few of the books I was looking for. I was able to combine a bunch of books together and save on shipping. I have one auction ending in 30 minutes and another this evening. If I win both of those, I'll be down to just four books to complete the set.

I've only lost one auction so far. This series must have started in 1994 as that is the oldest I can find available. The 94, 95, & 96 books are going much higher than the newer ones. They must be out of print and harder to get hold of because they are selling for 3-5 times the price of the newer books.

Its kinda fun hunting, picking, and pouncing at the last few seconds of an auction.

Carry on.

I am on very little sleep and I am now sick. I just didn't have the energy to start a thread.

Here, just working hard (and Christmas shopping).

I'm still trying to figure out what to get my hubby. He's been wanting a ponytail cuff that I was going to get him last year and ran out of time. It's silver and kind of expensive, and he loathes dressing up, so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

He also mentioned that he thought this wood charging station valet was cool. But again, it's $60 so it would be his big gift, and I don't know if he'd appreciate it enough or if that was a momentary looking-through-a-catalog thing.

Or I could buy him video games, but he hasn't really been playing video games lately.

My mom is already buying him art supplies.

I thought about buying him poster frames, but again, I'd need to get him a bit more than that.

What do you guys want for Christmas?

Ruby, sorry to hear about the boy. I hope everything works out.

Good Wednesday mornin' all. It's cold and cloudy here. Very dreary.

The forum has been an awful dead place this week. Those must have been some amazing Thanksgiving blow-out parties you all had. You're all still recouperating biggrin.gif

I need a new good coat. I've hinted several times to my wife that I would really like a nice, long black coat for the better occasions. What I want is something kind of between a plain wool dress coat and a trench coat. I know I've seen what I have in mind, but don't remember where.

My wife made it easy on me. I asked her a few days ago what she wants/needs. She mentioned the cookbook so I'm working on that. Just picked up 1999 for $7.00 including shipping.

She wants the new Keith Urban greatest hits CD. She already has all the songs on other CDs, but this one comes with a DVD of videos too. She wants it for the DVD. I ordered that from Walmart online yesterday. The shipping was less than $2.00 which is well worth not having to deal with the crowd or figure out how to get it and get it home when she's with me.

She also mentioned that she would like a new pair of simple pearl earrings. I was shopping JCPenney online yesterday and couldn't decide which of two pair I liked better . . . so I ordered them both . . . they were on sale too. smile.gif

I honestly can't think of anything I want.

There's always some TV on DVD sets I want, and I've told people that buy for me what ones I'd like. But other than that I usually just buy what I want so it's hard to come up with any ideas.

The few things I'd like that I didn't buy myself are usually too expensive (which is why I haven't bought them).

I'm a very difficult person to shop for I guess. Atleast that's what people always tell me.

I think I've found what to get Brian for Christmas:
main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=30978&g2_serialNumber=2

They had it listed on eBay for $45 or best offer.  I've never tried the best offer before, so I thought I'd give it a shot, so I offered $35.  If I get it for that, I can still get Brian something else too.

Ruby, sorry to hear about your son!  Hope whatever is going on can be worked out without causing you more stress!

Woo, hope you feel better!

I'm home from work now and trying to warm up......it's been cold outside the last two days with the wind blowing!!

I don't know what I want for Christmas this year.  There's a couple of video games I'd like, but I don't have the PS3 or the Xbox 360 to play them on so I won't be asking for the games.  cry  I'll probably just list some books and movies that I'd like to have because I really don't know what I want this year.  hmm

Honestly, the stuff you see on your commute is so surreal. I drive in the same city every day and don't see all these weird events! With you it seems to be an awful lot like watching a Mad Max movie. laughing.gif

I was home watching the news and they were reporting a story that a house in Lincoln (NE) got broken into. They claimed $100 in damages, but $5,000 in stolen belongings.

Of the stolen items were four gaming consoles and over 300 games. They said the owners claimed most of the games were purchased for Christmas Gifts.

HOLY COW! What gamer wouldn't want them as a relative?

Oh man, that stinks!! cry Hope they have insurance to help replace what was taken.  New gaming systems and a bunch of games add up to a heap of money in no time.
