I just had a very amusing conversation with my grandma. She calls me to confirm I am coming to Christmas dinner and then says I better let my boyfriend know whhat time so he can come too. After several reassurances I finally convinced her that yes, I would do just that. She concluded that conversation by saying he's a good man and he should be at the dinner. Hahaha!
Then she tells me she's going shopping at Southridge Mall tomorrow. Since I know she doesn't drive in the snow and would take the bus, I tell her I have to go there too and I could give her a ride. She says, "no, you're not invited. I might shop for you and you can't see so I hope I don't see you there."
Now I know, being a little old Japanese lady she doesn't realize how funny that sounds...and she puts it in such a sweet, matter-of-fact way I simply couldn't be offended. Isn't that hilarious? Honestly, the things seniors can get away with...
