It's Saturday

I want to sit around the house all day drinking mimosas and playing Guitar Hero.

I'd normally be cleaning house, going grocery shopping, doing laudry, and then sitting around the house for the rest of the day, doing something like drinking mimosas and playing Guitar Hero.

Instead, tax season starts next week.  So I'll be studying for taxes, then I have to go to a meeting at the tax office at 1, which is next to the grocery store so I'll go grocery shopping.  Then I'll come home, do laundry and study for taxes in between loads.  Then I'll study for taxes, taking a break to clean whenever my brain gets fried.  I don't see mimosas or Guitar Hero in my future today. cry

Howdy.

Ooooooo . . . studying the tax codes . . . sounds like a party at Mz's house!

I gotta get going on my normal Saturday server maintenance and practicing for Sunday. I finally got the music list last night so I have two less days to practice than normal. The good thing is there is nothing new this week.

Its a nice warm 37 now with an expected high in the mid 50's. That will be super! It did get pretty warm yesterday. I was able to get the Christmas lights extension cord out from under the ice that was over it and I was also able to get the ice dam off the edge of the roof.

Carry on.

Today is going to be a day of cleaning for me. My house looks like a tornado hit it! I have Christmas gifts lying around everywhere. I am also going to go and visit with my dad at some point.

Afternoon all. We had a birthday party this am at 10:30. It was awesome. It was at the Charleston Museum which I had never been to. The kids made a coaster out of mosaic tiles and got to make a bowl out of clay that will harden overnight. That was fun, but then we got to tour the museum by ourselves. It was really cool and I will be going back soon, I needed more time. Charleston is very rich in history as it was on of the larger and first settled areas. My favorite was the clothes and this doll house to DIE for! I think I had more fun than E! Stopped by Kmart to get the right lid for the ornament box I bought. My hubby had a root canal and we had a bad night, but he is better now. Went and got another prescription for pain and that seems to be keeping him from throwing up. Gotta head out to the grocery store now and E wants to hit the library.

Have a great!

I am now at home and continue to declutter my house. for the love of bejebus maybe we should just do away with the post office. I want to believe that that would somehow be a huge tax break, but then the post office is primarily supported by postage costs anyhow hey? But if there were no post office, the amount of paper that would come into my house would be cut by at least 90%.
My problem is is that I keep the stuff that looks interesting around to "look at"- big sales catalog from the hunt and camping store, spices catalog, the sales this week at the butcher.... a day becomes a week becomes a month. and I continue that cycle each day the mail comes. Most of my mail is just bulk rate advertising crap. It helps that the landlady put a trash bin out in the front hall, but it fills up soo quickly.

and I am a post it notes freak. the funny thing is is that I rarely need them, but there is a comfort in knowing that all I need to do is enscribed outside of my brain as well, just in case I have a brain fart.

I am going through stuff like money and my budget today too. Its amazing how flexible one needs to be. It seems that I am in a pattern that when I need money its tight, and when everything is taken care of, or I've done what I wanted to do, THEN here's the surplus I wanted 2 weeks ago.

MzHartz and her husband are coming up to Chicago next weekend, and I thought it would be fun to go and meet them. I was on the fence whether or not the $ would be there. I thought it might be, but its so not. So I am dissapointed by that. But February is one of the months that has 5 pay periods. One extra. I am sure that 5th week will have somewhere for the money to go, but some of it will be for fun. February is the shortest month, but in many many ways is the longest month.

its 39 degrees outside. It feels like 50. Its 2:18 pm. I am going for a nice long walk.smile.gif

"Did the individual have the same principle place of abode as the taxpayer for more than one half of the year OR qualify under The Special Rule for Divorced or Separated Parents?"

And that's an easy question.

That's it, I'm done for tonight, I have run out of paper. Tomorrow, I will get more paper and do more, but for now, I think the gears are starting to overheat, so it's time to stop. I'm still craving Guitar Hero and mimosas. But in good news, in the meeting today, I found out that there's an accelerated course, so I'm switching over to that. And I have more time to take the test, I don't have to do it next week like I originally thought.

Speaking of next week, like JD referenced, I will be in Chicago late Friday night, all day Saturday, and will be leaving Sunday morning, so if anyone's in the area, I'd love to meet up. But I totally understand the money problem, gas is high enough, and everything costs a bit more in Chicago anyway.
