HONOLULU

A man dressed in hospital garb threw a toddler 30 feet from a pedestrian overpass onto a major highway, and the boy was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday after witnesses saw him throwing something, followed him and called police, authorities said. One or two vehicles may have struck the 2 1/2-year-old, but it was unclear exactly what killed him.

There were no reports of a missing child, police Capt. Frank Fujii said. Officers were contacting day-care centers and other area facilities to find out where the child came from.

"It's a sad incident. It's something we never wished happened," Fujii said.

The suspect was dressed in hospital clothes, with the bottoms cut off as shorts. It wasn't known whether he had come from a hospital, or which one, Fujii said.

Police temporarily closed the westbound lanes of the H-1 freeway, a major route into downtown Honolulu.

Doens't it seem like it's been REALLY, REALLY bad lately?

Last night they reported that the marine who killed the female marine and her unborn baby had a barbecue for a bunch of other marines where they grilled out OVER HER BURIED BONES!

Last week was the story of the guy who slit his wifes throat then burned his house down with her and his four sleeping children in it.

The guy who threw four kids, all age 3 and under, off a bridge into a river (all dead).

Now this guy.

It's as if everyone's losing their mind all at once!

The sad thing is that they learn from watching tv. I mean I do not think tv makes them do it, but it gives them ideas that maybe they were too stupid to think of themselves. Plus it gives them some sort of sick fame. I am glad that I believe in HELL

People that do this kind of thing are messed up, yes. I often wish that we would look at the parents. It may sound sort of bad but, we as parents really need to be sure that what we share with our children is age appropriate. When I was in Boy Scouts, I trained people on the "age appropriate" material. So many adults treat their children like adults. As a male, I know that it took until I was almost thirty before I realized what kind of impact I had on the people around me. I'd like to know more about this person's background. It was wrong, for sure.
