No, the intake for the air that goes into the engine. The air passes through the air filter, then goes through a series of passages on the top of the motor that funnels it into the cylinders. It was that bunch of "tunnels" where the air goes into the motor that he'd clean out.

Hi all! Monday hasn't been too fun so far...can we just skip ahead to Friday already? laughing.gif

On my way to work this morning some guy ran a red light and hit my car, which then spun out and hit a lightpole on the corner. I never saw it coming - I just remember the hit and then exclaiming "holy sh*t" when I saw myself spinning toward the lightpole. My poor little Yaris, Roxanne, I believe is totalled. I'm OK so far, just starting to get sore. I can think of better reasons to have a day off of work. hmm

That's bad GG....Watch out for the stiffening up overnight...
Glad you're ok. Dis the other guy stop?

Our car needs a new Oil Sump...there are fresh oil patches on the ground every morning.

JR maybe you just need a change of air filter...maybe your timimng's out...or have you let the fuel tank get too low lately? Or have you bought gas from a different place than usual....?

Hey we had sunshine today smile.gif

Browni has a stalker every morning on her way to school...it's a lovely black cat, which ignores Martha and then pops out of the shadows to see Rachel. It was there on Sat morning too but only Mark went out that early. It wasn't there Sunday motning but was back today much to Rachel's annoyance lol

Browni goes to her first proper gig tomorrow night...with a friend, and the friend's dad will be there too. She's going to see Paramore. (whoever they are... biggrin.gif )

When my Saturn dies, I plan on getting a Yaris. What's your take on the way it handled the crash? They (consumer reports etc) say it replaced the Echo. Crash wize they don't seem to rate it too high. I like the idea of a 5-speed 1.5 ltr motor pulling in the 35 mpg.

Stay well. I got cracked by a Best Buy van back in 2002. I was in my '97 Celica convert. Got whacked in the back (solid) then, hit the car in front of me. Yep, double scrunch. It's wierd watching a van come straight at your ass end.doh.gif

Thanks for the well wishes all. smile

Yes, Pip, the guy stopped...he was driving a commercial van and there were a lot of witnesses, so I don't think he would have been too tempted to run. Since it was a work vehicle, I have the benefit of knowing the company would have to have it insured, too.

Honestly Squonk, I was pretty impressed how it protected me for a little car. I'll be honest, it isn't a big hulking piece of steel like the old cars I used to have...the exterior damage was pretty bad. The interior of the car didn't buckle...I've had bigger cars that did when I was hit. For a compact car, I was not dissatisfied. Yet, when you get any compact these days, you can expect the cosmetic damage to be pretty hefty.

I'm glad to have a family here too! But I am more glad that you could tell us what happened! I think we all fear what if someone on the forum dies... would we ever find out?!

Oh wait- I was supposed to be cheering you up!blankstare

The Saturn was down two quarts of oil yesterday! Eew. not good. It's not due for an oil change until Feb. Drive it til it dies! (I say) I just have to keep an eye on it. Still cranks over and goes down the road. On a good day, I can squeeze 25 mpg city/32 hwy.
