Suggest New Songs To Add?
Permalink Closed

Hey, keeping in mind that we play 80's music & music from other decades that sounds like it would have FIT in the 80's, does anyone have any songs they would like to see added to our rotation?

It seems like we've pretty well tapped out the available 80's songs, but we may have overlooked some pop hits from the 90's & today that would fit the genre of the station.

Let us know if there's something you'd like to see added to the library and we'll see what we can do.

Here is another sad one.  I love the song by Michael Damon "Rock On".

Excellent,

I know we have that someone in the library, I'll search it out and add it to the ARS.

I have 4 songs that I think would be good adds:

What About Love - Til Tuesday

Dreaming - Blondie

Sweetheart - Frankie and the Knockouts

Time and Tide - Basia

Mike,

I know we have three of those in our library, I'll add them to the ARS, but Frankie & The Knockouts I'll have to look into.  I've never heard of them, the sound like someone that might be featured on Underground 80's (Sunday evenings from 7 - 8 PM CST with an encore on Friday evening from 10 - 11 PM CST).

(Jazz Doctor?  Did I make you proud?)

Yes, Frankie and the Knockouts might be considered underground.  I now they only had like 2 hit songs.  Maybe i'm wrong but I could swear that 'Sweetheart' was a pretty big hit--top 10 in like 1981 or 82.  We'll have to ask the doctor.

Allright, as of 1 PM - DECEMBER 1 all of the songs so far suggested have been added with the exception of the Frankie & The Knockouts one.

The ARS list has been updated too, so they are available for immediate request.

Some of them I added to the regular playlist, but the more obscure were placed on the "By Request Only" playlist, so if you want to hear some of them you'll HAVE to request them.

Keep the idea's coming, and I'll do my best to keep building the playlist for you guys!

Hey!

No bringing up old threads that are better off left buried!!!

If I'm not mistaken the version of ROCKIT that I have is very long and annoying.  I recall wanting to add it early on since it's obviously a big 80's song, but something kept me from doing it.

I'll check it out and if it's a long one I'll see if I can edit it down to 3 minutes or so.

It's one thing to have a 7 minute song with lyrics, but 7 minute instrumentals send listeners running.

Since you've got some Hinder and Stone Sour, how 'bout adding some Theory of a Dead Man?  I've got some in one of my players on my Myspace page if you want to give them a listen, see what you think first.

No, not that type of band. I would equate them more with like a bar band. Or more like Robbie Dupree or something. You don't remember them, Riggs?

Heck, they even have a Bon Jovi affliation. I know you think I think everything has a Bon Jovi affiliation laughing.gif but really - Tico used to be in The Knockouts.

Wait a minute... it's not my birthday!

Seriously, this is the bestest thread in a long long while. Until my e-mail address is blocked from you as "Scary spammer girl", I will be sending you stuff. But in the meantime, there were some things I suggested a while back - some which are already in your collection - that never made it, so I will request them again:

Roger Waters - The Tide Is Turning (After Live Aid)
Roger Waters - What God Wants, Part 1
Pete Townshend Give Blood
Sass Jordon Make You a Believer

STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!

Ruby is a TROUBLE MAKER!
angered.gif

This is an OLD thread that she dug up.  We're not soliciting new songs for the playlist right now.

One here or there is ok, but I just haven't got the time to open the forum to new adds again.

When we used to have the thread devoted to asking for new music it just got to be too much work and the requests were getting too obscure.

Everyone PLEASE remember, anything in our catalog is available to be played on a special request basis.   We don't want the general request list to be full of so much obscure stuff that no one recognizes it.  More important, we don't want people tuning in and going 10 or 15 minutes without hearing a song they know.

Please stop asking for more.  You're killing me slowly.  tears.gif
