Since my daughter has been watching nothing but Scooby for a couple of months I get to relive my childhood. Does anyone remember all the groovy songs during the chase sequences? Pretty Mary Sunshine etc? It is done by an artist named Austin Roberts. I am suprised he never made it big. LS ever heard of him?

My favorite musical guests were (surprise surprise) Davy Jones, and Jerry Reed. I don't remember Austin Roberts. Hmm... Let me look him up, and see if he at least looks familiar to me. I suspect I would've seen him, because we were big Scooby fans.

Austin Roberts (born 19 September 1945, Newport News, Virginia) is an American singer. Roberts began his career as lead singer for a number of groups before joining the Buchanan Brothers. He later became the lead singer for the Arkades.
With record producer Danny Janssen, Roberts worked on music for two Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoons, Josie and the Pussycats and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, for which he sung the infamous "chase songs" used during Scooby's second season.
His most successful single was "Rocky" which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975; a close runner-up was the hit "Something's Wrong With Me", written by Danny Janssen and Bobby Hart, which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972. Roberts and Hart later wrote the song "Over You" for the 1983 film, Tender Mercies; "Over You" was nominated for the 1984 Academy Award for Best Original Song. --------------------------------------------------------- I don't think I'm too familiar with his work. Though I love Bobby Hart... Thanks for bringing him to my attention, Sparky.

I also enjoyed when they worked with the Harlem Globetrotters, by the way.

I still watch Scooby Doo and did not like the ones where they toook Fred and Vlema away and left it at Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby.
My favs were Jonathann Winters, Don KNotts,Sandy Duncan, Phyllis Diller,Jerry Reed, and to many others. I still watch them to this day and downloaded the scooby doo theme song.
Matthew Sweet did a great job on the "Scooby Scooby Doo Where Are You" song.
