We were trying to decide what to do for supper (aka dinner).

My wife's niece that cuts our hair . . . her husband is a local cop . . . he also does catering on the side . . . the local cafe ("The Tumbleweed) hired him to do a Valentine prime rib/shrimp special.

My wife remembered that I had a $25.00 gift certificate to The Tumbleweed so we called them and got two prime rib specials to go. On the way to pick them up, I got the boy a Happy Meal at McD's which he was pleased about.

So, we each had a nice big slab of prime rib, four nice pieces of shrimp, baked tater, salad, dinner roll, and a piece of cake with a peanut butter frosting and a chocolate heart on top for a final cost to us (after the gift certificate) of $17.00.

Happy Valentines day to us.

I made us dinner and desert tonight. We had Mushroom Jack Fajita's and chocolate covered strawberries.

I think he liked it...I know I did. Other than the dishes.

Yeah, I bought him a big Reese's cup heart. Also, not necessarily for V-day, I got him a moisture wicking shirt and a sherpa hoodie from work, and they just happened to come in yesterday.

I was surprised that he had no gift. He seems a bit romantic, or maybe that is my impression. You two are close and do some fun things together.

Actually, I was surprised too. We don't make a big deal out of Valentine's day, but we usually get each other candy or have dinner at home or something. But things have been weird with me being so busy that I think he just didn't think about it.

I heard an answering machine message once that said "I can't come to the phone right now, I'm all tied up and in a position where I can't reach the phone but if you would leave......
