When I worked for our city treasurer's office, a man came in to pay his property taxes. He said he had been to the assessor's office to complain because he felt his taxes were too high but it didn't change the amount he owed. So in protest of his tax bill, he paid with all coins. He came in with rolled quarters and before I knew what he was doing, he opened every single roll right there at the counter. It took me a long time to count up over $1,000 that day. And after all these years, I still remember his name and address. Even if I wasn't the right person he needed to make a point to, he sure left an impression!!
