Oh yeah, I forgot about the time change too! I agree, it should be warm when the time changes.

My family is doing well, thanks for asking. I think my uncle (who lived with my grandma) is feeling overwhelmed. He's trying to find all of her paperwork and records and get everything together, and I don't think my mom or aunt are helping. I don't think he's asking them to help either. I wish I could've stayed to help him out.

I know what your uncle is going through, Mz. My wife is going through the same thing with her mom's stuff. She wants to do it all herself but it is overwhelming.

The problem is all the paperwork and saved "stuff". She brings home a box and starts going through each piece of paper one at a time. She will throw away 20 pieces and then all of a sudden find something very important, cool, or personal. After 80+ years of life, there are a lot of things that have to be gone through one at a time.

Oh, and BTW, your hard drive will be back on Wednesday.

I think he also wants to find some things, such as my other uncle's death records because the funeral home never put up a marker for him, right away. So I think he's feeling the pressure of that too. And then there's how to divvy everything up since she didn't have a will.

So, is it a hard drive, or is it a hunk of metal?

I got it working to where I was able to read it via the USB. I've never heard a hard drive that loud before. If its always been that way, its probably ok but I was surprised at how noisy it is. If it hasn't always been that way, I probably wouldn't rely on it for backup storage. I'm thinking I should have copied your data off to one of my portable drives just in case you can't read it when you get it back. Hopefully it will still work when it gets back home.

Hm, I'll have to listen to it to see. I don't remember it being particularly loud.

So, did I not have it plugged in all the way or something?

Hey all. I stayed home from work today. I have been sick all weekend. This cold moved fast. We went out to eat on Friday w/ the girl and it was a good time. Sat it was out to eat w/ my parents which started out bad but was ok. I was having a hard time with my sickness then. My mom kept trying to push the plans until Sunday. By Sunday there was no way I was doing anything. cry

That I don't know. I didn't even try it at first. I just mounted it in a machine and ran my SpinRite tools on it. After that got done, I then put it in the enclosure and was able to read the drive ok.

Sorry you're sick, Woo. cry.gif

Glad to see you Darlene!

I had a very busy weekend and really LOVED seeing the Lion King on Sunday! It was way better than I anticipated! I was in tears a couple times because the music was so moving and the artistry of the dance and costuming was so magnificent. It's that kind of joyful experience that is unforgettable. aww

I'm not feeling all that well today - not out and out sick, but something's not right because I have no appetite and I feel like I'm having hot flashes (I'm a bit young for that yet). Must be a case of the Mondays. giggle.gif

Hmm. We saw Lion King in Chicago. I felt quite the opposite. There were a lot of families. During intermission, the parents pumped the kids with sugar. The second half of the show was ruined by whining, squirming children. The show, okay. I guess all the hype messed with my opinion some. The night was awesome, finished up with Italian for dinner and dancing at Excalibur. (2005, I think)bleh

Sorry to hear that Squonk. Surprisingly, there wasn't a lot of kid noise or distraction during the performance when I was there...where we sat was an excellent view without a lot of small children in the area. There were so few distractions that I felt like I could get really wrapped up in the performance and enjoy the clever and beautiful puppetry, let the music wash over me, and just relax and have a good time! But then, I'm just a kid at heart - I still like to let the "magic" carry me away in a good fairy tale! biggrin
