Good luck FF. That's gotta be hard.

This morning, I was too busy doing whatever I was doing in my dreams to wake up. I hit snooze thinking, "I'll wake up in a minute, let me finish this first..."

here. Not very cheery this morning. Mr Reality (my husband) hit me first thing this morning with "I don't know how we can avoid getting 2nd jobs again" cry
I just know our health will not survive another round. We also ate worse when we did this before. Sometimes I just wanna throw in the towel and go bankrupt.

Sorry, yeah I guess it's Monday bleh

I understand Woo. My part time job was only seasonal, but it did take it's toll on me. It's hard to work that much, you have to take some time for yourself.

yeah. I was so happy when we quit them last time. This just depresses me. He made valid points and I can't argue, but I just keep hoping for a break.

Its always in the back of my mind that I should get something part time, but that's wholly contingent upon how much I need to work at my main job. Can't always do it in 40 hrs, sometimes can. & most of the part time jobs I see want 20 hrs a week minimum. No way.

Good morning, friends.

I just got some good news. Talked to the service manager about my van. He said its probably "just" a speed sensor. Its "only" a $100 fix, but compared to major transmission trouble, I will happily have it only be a sensor.

Also went to the post office and got our taxes sent on their way. Its going to be an expensive month. Income taxes, estimate payment, accountant bill, property tax on the shop, and personal property tax.

Enough with the taxes already!

My forecast is showing 65 for today (its also 40 here now) and 78 on Tuesday. That will be awesome if it actually gets that warm.

Currently 42, high of 50 today. 63 tomorrow, 70 Wednesday, 73 Thursday... Sounds like last week. Except hopefully it won't drop into the lower 40s this weekend.

Happy Monday all.  Wow, sounds like a lot of us are going through some financial pain right now.  I just got my copy of our homeowner's insurance and the premium took another big jump this year.  I called the bank to tell them to hold off on sending the premium for the insurance (it's in our escrow account) because I wanted to talk to the insurance company about lowering some coverage, and they told me they already sent it two weeks ago.....payment wasn't due until the middle of May. Now I have another big deficit to make up by July for our property taxes. hmm  I'm getting really upset with our insurance company....this is the 5th time I've received our copy of the bill after the bank has already received their's and paid it. furious I already know from past experience with the insurance company that even if I go ahead now and reduce some coverage it will take at least 4 months to get a refund back from them.  You would think they would mail us a copy of the bill at the same time they send it out to the bank, but for some strange reason, they don't.

We also have a couple of nice days coming up this week.....69 on both Wednesday and Thursday.  Think I'll pick up some food for the grill later today.smile

I know JD, and what really ticks me off is we've been with the same insurance company for the past 22 years, and it's only been within the past 7 or 8 years that they've changed their practices on who receives the bill first.  I knew I should have called them around the middle of March when I thought about doing so.  I just put a big note up on the calendar to remind myself next March to call them!

They send the bill to the bank first, because the bank just sends them money and doesn't ask questions. The system works great for them!

My good mood has been shot for the rest of the day. I wish I could go home now and keep the last little bit of sanity I had left.

It was time for my monthly call to the gas company to ask them why we STILL haven't gotten credit for the checks they deposited.

I called in once today and a lady said that the August check was credited to our account in August and the October check was credited to our account in October. She was telling me that there were no missing payments. I got so mad again that I had to hang up.

After cooling off, I decided to call back and try again. This time, I have the online transaction history from their own website open and in front of me.

I asked (another lady) "If the payments were applied in the months of the checks in question, why don't the payments show online? And, why does the online clearly show where one of the checks was found in January and transferred from another customer's account into our account? If the checks were applied to our account when they were received, as I was just told, then what is this transfer in the exact amount of one of the missing checks all about?"

After that, she admitted that I was correct, there is still one check that they have not been able to find and that transfer is the other check that got put in the wrong account.

I said "I faxed in copies of the canceled checks weeks ago". She said "Yes, we have those here."

I said "Ok, please tell me this . . . I have proven that we've made payments and you are admitting that your system somehow lost them and didn't apply them to our account . . . correct?" She said "Yes".

I said "So, please tell me why I have to wait for you to fix your admitted mistake? Why can't you just apply the credit to our account and then take all the time you want to find your error? Why do we have to wait for your people to find this error? I personally don't care where the error is on your side. I have proof you deposited the check, you admit its your error . . . JUST CREDIT MY ACCOUNT AND THEN FIND IT ON YOUR TIME, NOT MINE!"

Again put on hold while she "talked to a supervisor". Finally she came back and said they would credit us for the other deposited check in question.

So, now I'll wait to see if I've been fed another bowl of crap just to get me off the phone or if it will really happen this time.

I've been fighting with this stupid deal since the first of January.

Sheesh no.gif

Oh, and one more thing. While talking to her, I tried to change pages in their site while looking at the transaction history and the site went down.

I don't know if it was just coincidence that the site went down when it did, or if they locked me out of the account while talking to me.

I've noticed with the arrival of Spring, that a lot of Roach Coaches are about on this side of town, selling burritoes and such. These things look like they must have been driven straight up from Mexico like in the 1960s. But there is never not a line of people lined up at lunch time to get a roach coach burrito.

I'm looking forward to going to The Hot Dog Stand this year. It has a permanent curb service building but it is only open during the warm months. (Like old A&W's) It is in Downtown which is not far but I don't think we went there once last year. weirdface
The sell reg hot dogs and coneys and excellent root beer! I just wish they sold fries. The just have chips and the like.
