Another nosy Ruby question....

Obviously my Disney trip must count. I did buy myself some cute earrings there and a shirt.

I don't treat myself very often so at first I didn't think I could remember anything.

I guess it was about a month ago when I bought some new craft stamps, but it was with birthday money that I still had.

I almost never do it - it's rare. I guess back in March when I paid to join the Hanson fanclub, which gives you a CD that has material only for fanclub members.

Mine was something really small the other night.  I bought a pint of Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream for myself.  It was a big deal to me because I've been watching what I eat for the past couple of months and hadn't had any ice cream in a while.

oooooooooh! That has become my new favorite ice cream! I can't remember the last time I had ice cream! We took my husband out for some at the beginning of March for his b-day but I got a smoothie instead.

well, I just got back from the "record" shop called "Record Head" that doesn't sell records anymore, so what I wanted to be a treat didn't happen. But I picked up 7 $1 cds- mostly weird stuff to pump new life into College Daze Revisited- Burl Ives, some Austrian Hill Music, The New Zealand  Symphony etc....wink

My upcoming trip to Memphis is a treat....

Before that, probably the brass lanters I bought at Christmas...

It's a good one LS! I bet I haven't seen it in 20+ years. It's about a corrupt sheriff that gets rid of speeders by chasing them and pushes them over a cliff. Martin Sheen goes to the town to avenge his brother. smile.gif

I would like to buy myself a treat. I am looking at purchasing a SLR digital camera. I know they can be expensive, but I miss my old camera. I like just going out and about and snapping pictures. I figured I would use some of my bonus money for this purchase. I worked hard for it, so why shouldn't I buy myself something nice? I still have research to do. If anyone has suggestions or comments on something they own, I will gladly listen.

The SLR I have is the Nikon D80.  I really like it.

Funny you should mention that . . . I just watched an episode of "Tekzilla" that had a good segment about digital SLR's. They had a lady that does camera reviews for a living on the show.

She said that her pick right now for entry level digital SLR is the Canon EOS Rebel XSi. She also liked the Nikon D80 but said that if you are looking at the cheaper Nikon D60, go with the Canon.

You can watch the episode here. The camera stuff was somewhere in the middle.

Oh, and I don't know about Nikon, but when I had to send my Canon in for repair, I was very impressed with their customer service. That experience alone was enough to make me chose Canon again if it comes down to deciding between similar products.

My friend has the Nikon D60.  I've used it.  It's a good camera, but obvously the D80 is an upgrade.

I was leaning a little more towardas the Canon. I have been looking at the Xsi. Canon came out with their bigger, better model Xti. That means the Xsi should come down in price or be at a better sale price to clear the inventory.
