Well, at least your dog didn't knock you out. I read Neil Gaiman's blog, and somehow his dog threw a pipe at him, or jumped on him while holding a pipe or something. It knocked him out for a few minutes, and he looked like he got beat up.

Yeah, that's what I figure. And I won't have 14 hours of a howling dog in my ear.

But I still feel guilty about the "testing" phase. She's just walking around, enjoying her day, unaware that in a few minutes she'll be unable to walk

That's better than trying it for the first time in the car and something goes wrong while you're in a different state.

I know. I wanted to test it now so that if she gets sick or seems TOO knocked out I can take her into the vet.

It's gotta be done.

Maybe I'll take the opportunity to trim her nails and hair while she's out. She'll never sit still for that stuff when she's awake.

The dog was fine. It really didn't knock her out at all. I'm gonna have to ask the vet if the results were good enough. She was sluggish, but never really out. When I'd call her to go outside she'd run to the door, but when she was outside she was a little wobbly legged.

Maybe that's enough to relax her and keep her from being crazy in the car. I should have taken her for a drive when she was like that
