I was A Mac person for many years, as my father loved them. I went to IU and needed a computer down there. well I was looking at an iMac or even one of the G3's (at the time). Then my 21rst b-day comes around, and low & behold I got a new Computer from my mom & new Step-dad...a Gateway...My step dad helped pick it out because he was a PC person. On one hand I was like 'Crap...What am I gonna do w/ a gateway?" but on the other hand, It was a $2000 top of the line computer in 2000. so I made the switch...& it was kinda nice not having to pay the outrageous prices for software, & the variety of things available...plus I don't think i could go back to one button.
The funny thing is a year later he bought an Apple Powerbook because of the light weight, big screen, & combo drive...Now he will only buy Mac. He got me to switch FROM Mac, and in the process switched himself TO Mac...He even sends a Jab my way every once in a while because I "Still" use PC
Then again, atleast your dad is cool enough to use computers, my dad thinks a computer is just an electronic deck of cards he can use to play solitare.
