Ellie LOVES the place. Although I think she loved it more when my Mom & Sister were here heaping attention on her.

But she's really adjusted well. She seems to like going out back to pee and poo. I think it's good for her that there are no steps anymore.

She also seem to love the carpets here. At home she never laid on the carpet, but here she's always sprawling out on them.

I'm excited, my Mom wanted to take a return trip in August to visit me and I told her I'd look up Greyhound rates. Turns out if you buy them 14 days in advance they got a flat rate deal. Round trip from Milwaukee to NC and back is only $126.00!!!!!

Looks like this Christmas I'll be Greyhounding it back to Milwaukee biggrin.gif

thats quite affordable riggs. just remember tho, & I speak from experience,

bring yer ipod with good earphones.

Wear clothes you can burn or throw out after your journey.

maybe sneak yourself a 1/2 pint or pint of jack to swig from on the rest breaks-it'll make things go by faster.smile

I was thinking the same thing D!

I'm gonna try to schedule out my trip AND my Mom's trip, and call them both in next week.

lol.  I'll pass that along to Mom too.  smile.gif

It's funny, if I picked her up in Winston, which is about 15 minutes away, it's a 21 hour ride for her.

If I picked her up in Salisbury, which is also about 15 minutes away, it would be a 27 hour ride because for some reason they go out of their way to Charlotte first.

Either way, she'll have several bus changes and a couple hour plus long layovers at bus stations.

I'm not so sure I'm too fond of my Mom hanging out in the Gary, Indiana bus station hmm.gif  I've been in Gary, Indiana.  It's not a pleasant place.  no.gif

Looks like a very nice place, Riggs. Nice & bright.

Cats adjust so easily! A dog you'd have to have in canine therapy, but cats are just like -yeah whatev!

rofl.gif It's the perfect blend of hi-tech (iPod) and low-tech (Jack) to detract from the annoyances of a long bus ride! Hey, I should've done that when I was flying.

Riggs, I can't see your pics here (work blocks them) but it sounds like you are getting nicely settled in and you're beginning to enjoy it. Yay! Congrats on your new home!

Your new furniture looks really nice too. smile.gif

It looks like I need to send you a Husker stadium poster to replace that other thing you've got there. A splash of red on that wall would be just right.

Hmm, I could definately see that hanging over the bed, but maybe change the red to green, and then change the white to gold. Yeah. That would work smile.gif

Hmm, moving South has obviously effected your sense of style. You'll just have to trust me on this one and stay with the Husker red.

I see the typical pine needles under all the trees? If it wasn't so expensive I would have paid Web to come rake mine and drive them up there. nod.gif

Your new home looks very nice JR!  smile  I like the privacy fence in your backyard along with the pine trees.  Makes it feel more like a real yard instead of a bunch of shared common space.

Now about the greyhound bus trip.....I agree with JD; sneak some booze on the bus and an mp3 player.

I took a bus once from here all the way to Atlanta, Georgia to visit a friend of mine.  The ride down wasn't so bad, but the ride home was something from another world!  I had to change buses in Detroit....we hit Detroit at 3:00 a.m. and I had a 2 hour lay-over.  As soon as I got off the bus, I was propositioned by pimp after pimp asking me if I wanted to make some fast & easy money.  I got inside the depot and it was pretty empty of people except for druggies and cops.   I sat next to a cop the entire time while waiting for my bus home, and the whole time I kept hoping he wouldn't have to use the bathroom until my bus came.  Detroit's bus station is a pretty scary place to be alone at 3:00 in the morning!!
