yup, We got ours on the 9th just as predicted. If you got a tax refund did you do direct deposit? If you did thats the day...if a paper check or if you had to pay in...I bet you will get a check. That takes MUCH longer.

I got mine on the exact day they said I would. I was hoping I would get it early, but we didn't. I have only found one person that got theirs early and their SSN ended in 17.

Maybe they ran out of money and are asking the oil people for a loan right now.

copied this from the FAQ for the stimulus payments on the IRS website:

Q. I filed my return on time, but I havent received my stimulus payment, even though the payment date listed for my Social Security number has passed. Why?

A. In general, the payment schedule only applies if your return was received and the IRS finished processing your return before April 15. If you filed your return on time, but close to the April 15 deadline, the IRS may not have finished processing it before April 15.

Processing times for tax returns and stimulus payments vary. If you are getting a regular income-tax refund, the IRS will send you that refund first. Normally, your stimulus payment will follow one to two weeks later.

If you are not expecting a regular tax refund, your stimulus payment should arrive a minimum of six weeks after you file.

I want to know what their answer for a e-file/direct deposit tax return filed in March is. That certainly is way timely and processed. Don't promise me my money if I am not going to receive it when you said I would. furious

I don't want mine to go into my direct deposit.... that would make me feel like I have to pay bills with it.

I had this conversation the other day too. What I could grow in the garden. Then there was mention of getting a cowtwo.gif or two and just going out a slicing a steak out of it and then patching it back up and hope that it grows back. Seemed like a good plan. Milk and beef. And get a few chickens. Then the meat and eggs are covered. I think peppers, cucumbers and beans will be planted at my house.

oh great.

WASHINGTON (May 15) - As many as 350,000 households are not getting the $300 per child refund owed as part of economic stimulus rebate payments, the Internal Revenue Service said Thursday.

The IRS says taxpayers' error and problems with commercial tax preparation software were responsible for the problem affecting a tiny percentage of the 130 million taxpayers expected to benefit from the refunds the government began sending out last month.

IRS spokesman Terry Lemons said the agency was confident it had identified all the people affected by the mistake. He said the IRS will send letters to those who missed out on the refund and that checks for the child credit will be mailed in July. People need not contact the IRS or file additional paperwork, he said.

The rebates, the centerpiece of the government's $168 billion plan to revive the faltering economy, provide up to $600 for an individual and $1,200 for married couples, based on income levels. In addition, people are entitled to $300 for eligible children younger than 17.

He said the problem on the child payments was traced to taxpayers' failing to check a box on their paper tax returns and to two commercial tax preparation software programs, less than 1 percent of those in use, that were not capturing the information needed to trigger the payment.

The IRS has already refunded some $27 billion to about 30 million taxpayers. It expects to hit 130 million refunds by the end of June, with the last checks - except for those who requested extensions in filing their returns and a few other exceptions - going out in July.
