Snow?

Man... you have to stop talking about the snow you've got there! It's so utterly completely depressing that it's raining here in Maryland in January! So much for skiing this weekend. :(

But at least you followed your snowfall amount with Sledgehammer!! :)

Like Riggs said, if you want the snow, come on over!  My car was buried this morning.  Plus, it was still snowing, so by the time I got around my car and cleaned it off, it was completely covered again.

Oh sure, there are the buried cars and walks to shovel. But nothing is more depressing than a week of rain in a season where it should be snowing! Especially for someone who loves winter and only barely tolerates the humidity and heat of the summer months. I don't know why I haven't moved further north yet!

I had a friend who mailed me a snowman once... but the only things that arrived intact were a carrot, some buttons, a corn cob pipe and a beer can!? (Not sure about that last one).

Do you know what would make this snow more tolerable?

If we could here "Informer" by the artist Snow.

Now that would be funny.

aw man the radiators blew in my apartment building last night! Fountains of water streaming from bleeder valves! WHAT A MESS and NO HEAT. The landlord fought with the furnace until 2 am and gave up- IT WAS A COLD NIGHT AT JDS!! Then I saw him at 7 am fighting with the snowblower! I believe the man is in pure hell today!

Awwww, we don't have Snow in our collection.

I always assumed he was rap so I wouldn't touch the disc with a ten foot pole.  Was I wrong?

I long for the days when I was excited to hear we were going to get a foot of snow. When in school, snow meant a good day, time off, extensions on home work & projects, sledding, sleeping in, & having friends over for video games.

Now everything is just the opposite. Work almost NEVER closes, You now have to get 2x's the work done in a shorter amount of time, shoveling, getting up extra early to get to work on time, and more time spent driving traffic w/ less time at home for friends...

Snow just sucks now...

My husband and I were talking about that last night.  We were supposed to get a lot of snow and were hoping like heck that we wouldn't.  Who's gonna watch the kids?  My mom was a kinda stay at home mom, so we never even thought about it, but I go to work at 4:30 a.m., if they cancel school, I'm already in St. Louis by the time they determine it and then I'm making a million phone calls trying to find someone to watch them.  It's horrible.  Snow days suck after 18.

I left all my snow days behind leaving Milwaukee to go to school in Hawaii.  I have settled in the Palm Springs area now.  I do not miss Wisconsin winters, not at all.

I used to live in Fairbanks Alaska and let me tell you, that was one of the reasons why I left there.  Too much snow and cold.  Idaho at least has the 4 seasons and the snow isn't too bad.  Right now its colder than a witches (you know what) and its actually starting to snow here in the valley.  Watch out KD7URF I bet its coming your way too.

Hey Stevie-

You seem to be the sole night time poster here at the site- are you 2nd shifter or do you visit the site when you are home and chilling out?

I do visit the forum during the day at work but lately its been so busy that I haven't had time.  From time to time I will check out the forum, and I usually have FFR playing on my headphones daily, unless I am in meetings, but MY time is at night, after I get the kids to bed and I have some ME time.  My wife works for a major airlines and is gone alot in the evenings.  Sooooooo.  This place has been my sanity and safe place.  For that, I thank you all...

Hey Stevie are you requesting a bunch of these songs at night? I really dig that feature. Freeze Frame literally becomes an online juke box for those who make use of the request system.

Yes I am.  I usually start thinking about songs and then I check and see if its on the Automated Request list and if it is, I will request them.  I usually use the limit up pretty quick ( 5 requests within the hour ) but thats ok.  The songs get played fast too.

StevieB,

It was probably just a typo, but just in case, the limit is usually set for 5 per HALF hour in the evenings (double your fun!).

We usually drop that to 2 or 3 every half hour during the day so more people can get their selections in.

Maybe I just read it wrong too, you know, it is usually late at night when I get a chance.  Thanks for letting me know.

Got a question.  Is there a way to identify the new songs that are added to the Automated Request line?  If not, can we get something added to show these new ones?

That's an excellent idea.

I'll work on something that shows the recently added songs, so you atleast know they're now available.
