I haven't really found a wine yet that I like.  I'll admit to not knowing very much about all the different kinds of wine so maybe someone could suggest something I might like.  I think I'd prefer something kind of sweet, but not too sweet.  I used to like Asti Spumante but even that doesn't taste good to me anymore.  hmm

You probably want to start with a white Sandy - tell JD to send you a bottle of Cedar Creek Winery Vidal! laughing.gif

Wine? Did someone say wine? Did I make it in time?

Ghost, my favorite is Oliver Winery's Gewürztraminer. It's a semi dry wine, so it's sweeter than a dry wine, but it's not too sweet. I think it's the perfect balance. But, I don't know if you can get it, there. I also like Barefoot Cellars Pinot Grigio. It's a little drier, but I don't think it's too dry. You should try it out.

And I LOVE Asti Spumante!

Thanks ladies!!  I'll write down the names you suggested and see if I can find them here. smile

I always feel like a dweeb when it comes to wine.

There's no quick and easy answer to wines Sandy - don't feel like a dweeb! It took me a few years to become a bona fide "cork dork." giggle.gif One more thing...If you go red , I'd suggest you try a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo or a Valpolicello, they are lighter bodied Italian wines. Or for something that's pretty easy to find and not expensive, look for Red Guitar. nod.gif

Mz, that wine you mentioned intrigues me - I LOVE Gewürztraminer on a summer evening!

I have a hair apointment this afternoon - I wonder if the stylist would mind if I brought some wine along... laughing.gif

Ya know Woo, I've seen those all over the place, but have never tried one.  I wonder if that's something I might like.  smile

We have a few local wineries around my area. I went to my first winery two or three weeks ago. They do wine tasting. It was nice. They review and explain things to you without making you feel stupid. I picked up a case in total. But it has whites, reds and fruit wines. I think I am enjoying the raspberry the best. I have a bottle of cherry chilled in the fridge. That being said I think I have a white and a red chilled too. beer.gif  They even have one that is like Welch's grape juice with a little kick.

I agree with Fuzzy, local wineries are the way to go. That's why I'm a big fan of Oliver. I didn't know anything about wines until I started going there, and they're really good about telling you extra stuff too. You get to learn the lingo, and what types of food to pair with which wines.
