Good morning all! I slept well last night and it looks like a beautiful day today. smile I'm thinking about taking a nice walk at the lakefront and maybe trying a new restaurant later  for Milwaukee's Downtown Dining Out promo. Right now though, it's time for a nice cup of coffee. Have a greta day everyone!

Good day all!

Ah, coffee. Coffee sounds nice, I think I'll get some when I go out.

Went to tai chi club this morning. I did a little picking up around the house, but I want Brian's help to clean it, and he's still in bed. I also need to do a little bit of shopping before we go on vacation next Thursday, but again, I want to wait until Brian wakes up to see if he needs anything. So, I'm on to chore #3, which is working on his website. I hope to have it "done" today.

We kicked butt last night and this morning.

We worked until 8:00 last night and until noon today.

Mrs Web got all the flower beds cleaned up and mulched.

I mowed last night then started edging the sidewalks and drive. I finished edging today. I used a square point shovel and one shovel at a time, went along and cut back from the cement about 1.5" and cleaned it up. In some spots, the grass was over the sidewalk so much that with both sides done, the walk is about a foot wider than it was before.

Now we have to find some lunch, then we have food co-op pickup at 2:30 and baseball practice again at 4:00.

Busy, but we're getting stuff done. smile.gif

I have had a busy day. I woke up at 6am, went to yard sales, went out to eat breakfast, went to the library, and set up a Slip and Slide for Anna to play on. I am going to do a little cleaning and then take Anna to her granparents' house to spend the night. THEN it's off to Riggs' house for dinner and a movie!clap.gif

This is the 3rd time I am typing this post. Everything keeps disapperaing when I submit furious

Anyway we are officially done with the old house. Everything went well! clap.gif
They were sorry to see us go and thought the place looked great. They had our full security deposit ready for us. We just have to wait until Monday to cash it. There was a gltch though. The wife wrote the wrong last name on the check and had to correct it. So hopefully there won't be any problems from that.

I have not told you of the problems with the apt because I have just been overwhelmed but mostly we have had a hot water issue. The property mgr thinks we are stupid. She is not the person we dealt with prior. My husband went down to the office this morning ready for a fight but the lady we like was there and it got worked out. A maintenance guy who knew what he was doing came out and fixed it. The guy before only turned the heater up to "very hot"
We have been slowly putting stuff away and watching movies.

Wings game on tonight- GO WINGS!!

It was a beautiful day here today!!  I washed & waxed my car, vacuumed the carpet and floor mats, cleaned and treated the interior, treated the tires & rims, and finally put the snowbrush and scraper away in the trunk.  It looks really nice, so it was worth the time I spent on it today.  smile

Hubby made dinner tonight.  We had a marinated roast on the grill, along with grilled potatoes, and grilled vidalia onions, and he made a big salad to go along with it.  Oldest girl picked up an angel food cake and some frozen crushed strawberries on her way home from work, so we had dessert too.  It was such a nice surprise to not have to make dinner tonight!

Have I mentioned before how much I love summertime?!!!!!  biggrin

Yeah, we sometimes get the cordon bleus from Schwan's just to have something tasty and fast on hand. They are $12 for four off the Schwan's truck so these are about 1/2 price. smile.gif

well tonight was a great night for grilling out in wisconsin. storms were supposed to come all weekend and they just haven't. Its been like sunny and 80 degrees all day.

Tonight we made peruvian shishkabobs along with an herb salad. and for fun, grilled pretzle bread on the side.

We used top sirloin and marniated that in olive oil, soy sauce, lime, cumin, & salt. you let the meat marinade in this and it actually begins to chemically cook due to the lime. So by grilling time, its really just a matter of browning the meat nicely over high heat.

the vegetables were red onion, mushrooms, and zuchinni. These were marinated in olive oil with garlic powder, hot pepper flakes, a little hot sauce. everything turned out really well.

enjoying tape label el dorado tempranillio right now, some passionfruit sorbet as a late dessert to follow.

Juno and/or There Will be Blood are to follow for this evenings veiwing pleasure.

***Sriracha was the hot sauce used. Its thicker than tobasco, and is often used in asian dishes.

also went to the farmers market today in West Allis. Its still just mainly plant beds and hanging pot plants being offered, but a nice selection of radishes were offered as well, as well as herbs to grow. Picked out a nice peach colored geranium, actually its called patriotic orange. How is orange patriotic, I'm not sure. some purple allysum too. and a strawberry hanging plant. so a shepherds hook was bought to get that up and off the ground it looks nice.

catnip would have been nice, but none to be had. I can't wait until about the end of june when the fruits and vegetables start coming in. by the end of july, its just a harvest fest.
