well here was one I did the other night on the grill- kinda funny too-

I am not a big zucchinni fan. Don't hate em, don't like em. & Red onion is often too strong for my tastes. And I do not mind tomatoes on a salad, but wouldn't just eat one because its there. too acidic.

BUT

Slice up a zucchinni (sic?), a red onion, and a couple of plum tomatoes. In an aluminum foil pan, cover this with a bit of Italian oil dressing. Cover the pan with a sheet of aluminum foil, and stick the foil a few times with a fork for venting.

Put this on the grill while you are cooking your main course. Stir once and recover after 7-8 minutes. Serve! It was REALLY GOOD!

JD that wasn't nice. That is disappointing news. I saw some pretty asparagus last week in the grocery store. It was so thin and it looked so tender right there without even being cooked. I actually picked up a stack but had to put it back. $3/lb.

FUZZY!

$4.69 a pound here; at least at my store!!! It actually dropped .30 cents to that price, because the skinny little weak twigs are coming in!

If you can find a nice bunch- not too fat, not too skinny at $3 a pound, I advise you to BUY BUY BUY!

Have you been hanging out on the floor of the stock exchange? Or just too much time with your financial planner?

You know, a root beer stand, a drive in where you get hot dogs and root beer! Do you not have any of those either?

We did have a few A&W rootbeer stands, but most of them are closed up. Although there is still one south of here I guess. This guy at work has a 1960 Pontiac Super 88 that he took over there a couple of weeks ago to take pictures of at "an old fashioned root beer stand". He took the pictures in black and white, and they look straight from 1960. really cool- the old car, the old stand, the sign in front of the stand....like a trip back in time. too cool!

Hey JD I was just thinking about you, because I am cooking. I am trying something new-

Pork tenderloin with apples- placed the loin in a casserole dish and surrounded it by apples coated in cinnamon, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Baking it now for 1 1/2 hours. I'll let you know. I have some fresh pineapple and cantaloupe and strawberries, I plan on making a fruit salad too.

Cornstarch, like five times the power of flour, thickens the juices to a gravy texture.

I never use flour to make gravy.
