RE: To avoid any rumours, here's the straight story...

Uh, yeah. She just got done putting her cell phone through the wash cycle last week. If anyone thought I wasn't going to give her a hard time about THAT then they just don't know me no.gif

It's only been about six months since she DROVE OVER her last phone!

Seriously, if there's a way to kill a cell phone, Jenn will find it.

But I digress biggrin.gif

Been there and have done that several times. If for some reason I am unable to locate mine, there is a good chance I left it in the pocket of my jeans that are in the laundry basket. What is even better is after I have washed it, it stays in my pocket, I still don't know that it is there and I throw the jeans into the dryer. So, yes I have even tried to dry my pocket knife. I notice it when it does come out of the pocket and starts to clank around in the dryer.

I've washed and dried a chap stick that someone left in their pocket.  Talk about a mess on the clothes!!  The cap came off in the dryer and 5 pairs of jeans got ruined.  It left a waxy residue that wouldn't wash out.  I now check everyone's pockets before doing laundry.

Oh, I found $20 in my husband's pocket the other day.  He hasn't said he's missing any money, so I guess it's mine now. hehehehe!!  biggrin

Oh yeah, chapstick. I have washed that on many occasions, but dried it on fewer. That is another one of those things that clanks around in the drier. I usually find it quickly. I have dried it once or twice and lucky for me, the cap stayed on.

Ghost - treat yourself to something nice with your found money.

I'm sorry to say that Jennifer & I have already decided that our relationship isn't working, and we've decided mutually to step back from it and just be friends.

I love Jennifer very much, and I believe she loves me as well.

Long distance relationships are indeed hard.  I think we both believed in our hearts that this would work, but the stresses that go along with being apart, and then with coming together proved to be more than we could handle I guess.

We both hold out the hope that maybe spending time as friends will help us to find that special connection we once had and perhaps we'll still wind up as more.  But in the meantime we've decided to move forward.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing.  I may move back to Milwaukee at the end of the summer and try to look at this as a long vacation, or I may take a job here and stay until spring of next year.

We both just wanted to make sure that all of our friends heard this information directly from us and not through gossip.

really sad to hear this...
best wishes for both of you whether together or apart.

I don't use chapstick and it seems no matter how many pockets I check this happens at least twice a year. no.gif

Nope. Just a single blade knife. I usually just carry it on the weekends or if I am on vacation or something. Comes in handy around the house, fishing, etc. It is one of those things that is there when you pick up the pile of stuff that goes in your pocket.

And since I have jeans on today, you know what is in my pocket right now. Yes, that is right, my knife (my chapstick too).

when I went to vegas I had a smaller hunting knife in my carry on bag. I bought it from a guy at work at totally forgot it was in there. It got through security and everything! It wasn't until I was in the hotel room and unpacking that I realized "holy crap!!! I coulda been busted!" and then it dawned on me "holy crapp!! why didn't they catch this!?!"
I disposed of the knife in vegas, didn't want to have to think about it on the way back...hmm

How did this become a conversation about washing pocket knives? But while we're on the subject, my husband washed a bottle opener once (the type with the can poker thingy on one end). He now has a few shirts that look like they have moth holes in them.

At any rate, I wish the best of luck to you both. I'm glad to hear that you reached that decision amicably.

Riggs told me to get in here and post so that people don't think I have been killed and thrown into the back of his van laughing.gif

Riggs and I have developed a friendship that can never be destroyed. He has been someone that I turn to for everything. I have been so blessed to have even met him. We both have discussed that we still love each other very much and we are both so grateful that we are going to maintain our friendship. I can't imagine my life without him in it somehow.

We spent a few hours together last night and we both had a really good time. There were laughs, jokes and the occassional jab at each other. I am cooking dinner for him Saturday night and we will probably watch a movie. I really do enjoy spending time with himsmile

While I am glad you are both still friends, I must admit that I am disappointed to hear this. I can't lie. I am such a dreamer...I really was hoping for that total happy ending. I'm sorry. Call me naive, but I still think anything is possible. especially with friendship. I wish you both the best and hope you keep that door to possibility/opportunity open......you never know what can change down the line

Thanks Cheese.

We are leaving that door open. We're still spending a lot of time together and hoping that maybe down the road we'll want to try again. I think it's almost impossible for us to even have a chance at a normal relationship until I have kind of gotten my footing here in NC.

I'm looking for work right now, and may well wind up staying the full year. So we'll take it from there. smile.gif

Are you in your own place by yourself?

I know the hot weather is getting to you. What do you think of all the flooding back home?

JD, Virginia is the coal mining state, not so much here. This seems to be strawberry country.

Cheese. Yes, I'm in my own place. I love it. The nicest apartment I've ever had, and in a country setting. It's so cool to walk down to the mailbox and just have trees and quiet around me. I really enjoy this aspect of things.

The job market is rough. If I want to make decent money I'll have to travel 30 or so miles each way.

I came down here with a good sized nest egg, so I was in no rush to find work. I took some time to kind of get my bearings and really this week is the first that I've actively sent out some resumes and stuff. If I don't get anything until fall it won't break my heart. smile.gif

The heat is bad, but the humidity is what really sucks. Today it was 99 and I took a walk. It's not so humid so it was almost nice walking in that heat. I didn't even sweat. But when the humidity is higher you walk outside and immediately feel like a wet towel.

The worst is getting in the car. It's gotta be a 140 degrees in there after it's been sitting in the sun all morning bleh.gif

I have been out of it for some time. where did you move to?

I am so glad that you remain friends. So very vital. The negative energy spent in the bad feelings can be very consuming. I know that all too well. Best wishes to you both.
