RE: I am having a GOOD or BAD Day because....

I have had a Good day because today is my 38th birthday and I got woken up by my kids and wife with them serving me breakfast in bed.  (ham and cheese omlette, salsa, and orange juice).  Got treated like a king all day and got a phone call this evening from my best friend in Indiana who actually remembered that it was my birthday.  Life has been good and I made it to see another one.

HAPPY HAPPY B-DAY STEVIE B!

I got it in before the birthday was officially over!  Whew!

We'll have to find a birthday song that we can play on the air whenever one of our forum members celebrates a B-Day.

I think Wierd Al had a birthday song on one of his cd's,

hmmmmmmmmmmm...

I'm having a good day because I changed my phone number today and FINALLY got a number that spells something cool!!!!

I'm having an even BETTER day today because while I was on the phone with the phone company they noticed I have DSL on a month to month contract at a cost of $53 and asked if I wanted to switch to an annual contract for $26 a month!  WOO HOO!

I had actually TRIED to get the better rate about six months ago, when I realized how I was getting ripped off, but at the time they claimed they couldn't make the switch because I was one of the few people that got DSL when it first came out so it wasn't part of my phone line (we actually have a seperate DSL line that they ran specifically into my house).  So to get the better rate I would have had to disconnect the old fashioned DSL & get set up on the phone-line DSL, which I wasn't willing to do for various reasons.

Apparantly they either changed their stance on the issue or this woman today didn't realize what she was doing, either way I win to the tune of about $325 a year!  WOOOO HOOOOOO!

I am having a very good day.  As I gazed out my window enjoying the mountains and clear blue sky--I thought perhaps I can get away with playing some golf.  Just got back from playing 18 holes and didn't get caught even when the boss called twice.  I am having an even better day enjoying the sunset and winding down an 85 degree day.  Gotta love Southern California.

I'm having a good day because the kids go back to school tomorrow (if my daughter ever goes to sleep, it's 10:17 p.m. and she is still fighting it)!  Woo hoo!  I'm having a bad day because I got my days mixed up and thought tonight was Sunday and tried to tune into Jazz 101 to walk to and realized it was Monday.  After all that hype, I screwed it up.  I will try again NEXT Sunday from 8 to midnight.  One good thing, I got to listen to Jeremy.

I do get this constant feedback noise in my ear as I listen to the freezeframe.  I have a remote headset that I can listen from quite a ways away, which enables me to listen wire free, but for some reason when I plug it in to my speakers, it goes nuts.  I don't know why.  I plug it into the CD player and I'm fine, but the speakers make an awful screech.  This is how much I love freezeframe, I tune it out as long as I can and then I switch to CD's.

Hey Trish,

Do you mean you plug like a wireless transmitter into your computer speaker & you get a feedback?  When you switch to CD's are you playing those through the computer too?

If not, the wireless transmitter may be too close to the speakers.

If you're ONLY having the problem on the computer with Freeze-Frame, can you tell me, is it ALL the time, or just when we talk?

That is the very reason I moved.  Most of my family is still in the Milwaukee and Fox River area.  Me?  I will take the earthquakes--we had a 4.4 just after midnight on Saturday--and the 131 degree summers and day over your severe T-Storms, cold and tornado's. ( and don't let anyone kid you about a dry heat.  When it is 127 degrees, it is just plain hot.

I got spoiled when I went to school in Hawaii and settled for the Palm Springs area to work.

You guys are not going to believe this...Yesterday's good and bad (and sometimes ugly)

I'm having a good day because I had my first meeting where I was in charge and it went really well.

I'm having a bad day because we had a rental car because my dad's car was totalled and the dealership gave us a loaner so we had to return the rental.  I drove the loaner, dad drove the rental.  Went out to start it when I left work and locked the keys in the car with it RUNNING!  Had to pay $55 to have it unlocked.  Was not feeling the love.  Then we went home and the brakes on the loaner felt kinda weird.  Next thing you know, the front right wheel is smoking to beat the band.  We pulled over about 45 minutes from my house and sat there until a wrecker came to get us.    We usually get home about 4:30.  We got home last night around 7:30.  Had to cancel scouts, miss my son's basketball game and sit in front of a St. Louis Bread Company store for over an hour and a half.  Not fun.  I am contemplating sending out a mass e-mail to all my contacts telling them to leave me off of their chain letter list.  Obviously I have made the chain letter god mad and I am getting the bad luck that they promised would happen.  Last Monday a car accident, this "Monday" this happened...

I'm living via freezeframe cuz the rest is starting to stink really badly.

End of Novel.

YIKES!

This is NOT a good start to 2005 Trish!

Well, let's look at the glass as half full, maybe you've gotten all of the "crap" for the year out of the way in January!

The rest of '05 is YOUR YEAR MAN!  The history books will refer to it as "2005: The Year Of Trish".

It's ALL good from here!  I'm drawing a Freeze-Frame line in the sand for you!

It was bad enough becuase I had to pay a $400 bill today. It got worse when I stopped to do that. I parked right in front of the business and left our 3 month old boxer puppy in the pickup while I went in. I was talking to the owner inside and watching her out the window.

We were talking about the puppy and how she was going back from window to window in the truck. I was saying how she was going to have to learn to wait when I noticed that while she was standing up on the edges of the doors, she had successfully locked them both. Did I mention that the keys were inside . . . and it was still running?

I knew this was going to happen some day as she has locked one door or the other before.

The good part was that it was only about four blocks away from where my wife works and she has a key for the pickup on her ring. After she quit laughing, and told all her co-workers where she was going, she came and unlocked the truck for me.

There you go JD . . . that's a really good idea!

If I could get her to do that, it would be a great day!

Must be the week for locking the keys in the car.  Greeeeaaaat!!!!  I'm now not allowed to be the keeper of the keys.    My dad took away the keys!  I feel 16 again (except that I actually had the means to pay the $55).

Today I am having a very bad day! After having yesterday off I came into work today to piles of paper on my desk, my fax machine in five pieces with a letter opener sticking out of the front of it. (I assume this is what they tried to dig the jammed paper out with) My password on my computer was changed from Spiderman to Snowball because thats what my boss told tech support that SHE would remember. It's a good thing I wasn't gone for a week otherwise I might have lace curtains and a Chia pet!

Dovetails, Yah she changed my password and it wasn't even her computer, she needed to access some of my files. I feel robbed! I think a little revenge is in order. Maybe shake her can of soda up she leaves in the freezer for a couple of hours every morning.

I feel so violated on your behalf.  IS THERE NO PRIVACY ANYMORE?!?!?!  Sorry, had to get that out.  I feel much better now.

We went from an open office to cubes now and I like it much better.  I feel like I have more privacy.  The best thing about privacy is that no one can see me jamming to my tunes, mouth open and mouthing the words with my face all contorted (like Joe Cocker on speed) with no sound coming out. MUUUUUUUCCCCHHHHH better!

I'm having a good day because we're having company paid for pizza and cake for the second Friday in a row at work.  I'm having a bad day because we have another guy shipping off to Iraq and that's why we're having it again.  Not too good.  I've lived around the military all my life and I'm used to this, but it doesn't make it any easier.  Pray for their safe return, guys, I know you will.

I do that when I drive to work by myself, too.  I figure, who do I know on these roads anyway?  I don't care.  I figure it's much better than nose picker guy and left lane hog last minute cut-in guy. You gotta jam!  Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance (or sing) like nobody's watching, it's gotta come from the heart if you want it to work!

Glad I made your day, JD.  THAT made my day.

Trish, I'm reading your post about the guy going to Iraq as "God Bless the USA" plays from Freeze-Frame Radio. That's cool.

Tell him thanks for me too!

Sorry to bring up an old thread but gotta tell someone . . . .

I do web hosting and about 10:00am this morning, I was adding a new account on my server using commercial control panel software when it went nuts and deleted a bunch of config files.

After a couple hours of trying to recover files, I gave up and decided to do an operating system restore and then pull the user accounts from last night's backup. Since I'm in Nebraska and my server's in Phoenix, the techs at the data cener have to do that for me.

I waited in line for my time and finally about 3:00pm it was my turn to get help. I wanted to go with the latest stable version of FreeBSD 5.3 but they didn't have it downloaded yet. So, another hour and a half waiting for that.

I already had two new hard drives waiting there. It took them two hours to get the drives mounted and start the operating system install. After another hour of fighting that, they determined that the two brand new drives I sent earlier are bad. I had another drive sitting there waiting for another project and it works so we decided to use it instead.

So, at about 9:00pm, They started the install on the new drive and realized that the cd they downloaded and burned won't work. So, now they are downloading another copy.

I should have been back up and running by now, but I'm still waiting to begin the user accounts restore process. That will take several hours so it will be an all-nighter.

Two good parts I can think of is that I have Freeze-Frame Radio to listen to tonight if TV is no good, and my customers are being very understanding. Getting lots of calls but they are not calling me bad names yet.

I'm just waiting for the next bad news on this . . .
