BEST SPORTS TEAM OF ALL TIME

Do you think it was the Bears of '85, The Red Soxs of last season??? What was the best sports team ever? Try not to be biased!

For me, the obvious answer was Green Bay Packers of Superbowl XXXI fame. The offense- Brett at his best, Freeman, Brooks, Chewy, Levens as the running back...a solid line....Desmond Howard on the return team was almost always certain to run the ball back for a TD....Chris Jackie was as dependable as could be at hitting field goals from any distance....and the defence- Reggie, the ever dependable Leroy Butler.....this was the best team of all time for any sport!!!!

LOL,

I thought you said try NOT to be biased J.D.!

I'm a huge Packers fan, but I don't think there's anyway the '96 Packers were the best sports team of all time.

I think the Bulls during their run of championships have to be considered (even though I hate them).

That's a tough question though, I'll have to think about it a bit.

Oh thats not being biased Riggs- sure them bulls were good- but thats just a 5 man team. heck really with Jordan, it was a 1 man team- well Pippen, .....nah Bulls were a one man team.

the 96 packers?!?! All three units- Off, Def, spec teams were THE BEST!!!!

Yep, Superbowl XXXI. I think that was the best superbowl ever with the best team ever winning. It reminds me of the great glory days of old with the packers- the ice bowl- starr, paul horning, nitzkie....man the packers are the best organization ever in professional sports.

Know who else was good? The 82 Milwaukee Brewers. Even tho they lost the world series that year- no way should they have gotten that far. Bambi's Bombers. That was one cinderella story right there....

See I can't help but have a little bias here...but I think it's the 1974-75 & 1975-76 Indiana Hoosier Mens Basketball teams, who went 63-1 over the course of 2 seasons, losing only one game (Elite 8 Against Kentucky) in 1974-75, and going undefeated in 1975-76 and taking home our 3rd National championship with a perfect 32-0 record. No other mens basketball team has gone undefeated since (Though Illinois Scares me this year)

Now...there is 1 team I might concede as better, And following the same criteria, it would be the 2001-2 & 2002-3 UConn Huskies Womens Basketball Teams, who went 76-1 over 2 seasons losing 1 regular season game to Villanova in 2003, but going undefeated 39-0 in 2001-2 and winning back to back national championships over those 2 years

I'm all for equal rights, & EVERY women's basketball player that plays in college & the Pros is WAY better than I, But I think the quality of opponents that UConn women faced over those 2 seasons were not nearly as tough as those the Hoosier men faced in the 70's, even though they won fewer games over 2 seasons.  Still going 39-0 is no easy task...that's why I give the edge to the Hoosiers, but it wouldn't be hard to persuade me the other way.

O.K.  When I was in high school I would have never said this, but I love hockey.  I don't know all hockey years they were great, but I love the Blues.  Every year.  Even though they are not playing now, I still love them and can't wait for them to play again.  My favorite sports starts are Reid Lowe and Walter Payton (I know, he's a football player).  I loved Walter Payton.  Every thing about him was great.  I even wanted to name my daughter after him.  She was going to be Payton if I had my way about it, but I didn't.  My husband just didn't like the name for a girl.  I met Reid Lowe a few years back and he is such a great guy.

As a die hard Packer fan, it is my duty and my job and my joy to despise the Chicago Bears. I love to hate The Bears almost as much as I love my Packers.

But I will say this. My favorite thing to watch- ever - and forever- is the NFL film on Walter Payton. You cannot emerge after watching that film and not feel like you could kickbox a nuclear warhead and win. There is no need for all these motivation speakers, seminars, books and tapes etc. Just watch the Payton NFL film.

He rocks, that's all there is to it.  He wasn't called "Sweetness" for nothing.  He is just one of those people that if your kids says he looks up to him, you don't cringe, you don't try and change his mind, you just applaud him for good taste.
