I have heard a song a few times this week and the album release is today for Katy Perry's One Of The Boys....The lead single is I Kissed a Girl...This song has all the makings of a huge hit I think. Doe anyone else get the same vibe?
I looked it up to see if it was a cover of Jill Sobule's song, but it isn't. The writers are: Cathy Dennis/Lukasz "Doctor Luke" Gottwald/Max Martin/Katy Perry
With Cathy Dennis & Max Martin, I'd say if history repeats itself, yes - it'll be a huge hit! I am looking forward to hearing it.

When I saw your thread I checked the Ruskies to see if they carried the album but no go.
If anyone has it and wants to provide it to the station for airplay I'll be glad to play it. Otherwise I'll add it as soon as it's available from my friend Vladimeer.
I had to suffer through a one hour telephone sales pitch from Dylan, telling me that Katy Perry was the second coming of Sheryl Crow, and I finally broke down and bought her CD off iTunes. 13 songs for $7.99, can't complain about that!
She name-checks Gwen Stefani in her press materials, and the title track here covers similar thematic territory as No Doubt's "Just a Girl." But Katy Perry's true foremother is Alanis Morissette. Not since "Jagged Little Pill" has a debut album been so packed with potential hits. The 23-year-old singer/ songwriter updates Morissette's grunge era angst with an energetic, more timeless teen-poppiness, still leveraging it with lines like, "You PMS like a bitch/I would know."
The 12 tracks are split between smart chick radio pop ("Hot N' Cold"), sassy novelty tracks for that "She said what?" effect ("I Kissed a Girl," "UR So Gay") and big, swaying ballads that show Perry's exciting mastery of melody ("Thinking of You," "Lost"). Engineered for short attention spans at just 44 minutes, "One of the Boys" is still more than enough to make this one long, hot summer for Perry. Kerri Mason
