Morning all. I would like to know why two days on the weekend seem to go by much more quickly than two work days. It is still 48 hours, so I don't get it.

Mornin'

I woke up early with a headache. Took some drugs and when they kicked in, I crashed hard and just now woke up.

The OK Sisters were really good last night. They played a few new songs, some of their old songs, and a few covers. It was a really nice night to be out in the park listening to some good music.

Mrs Web is on vacation this week and she plans to spend it working at her mom's house trying to get some of her things sorted and distributed to family.

I get to work on the water heater today. The lower element went out of the heater Saturday night. I disconnected it so we still had the upper element working to get by. I have to drain the heater and then go see if I can find a replacement element. I've replaced that one before so hopefully it won't be too bad and the hardware store will have one.

What a perfect title for today. yawn.gif

I thought after a normal nights sleep on Saturday I was back on schedule, but for some reason I couldn't fall asleep until nearly four last night. I got up at 9 this morning though, so hopefully with only five hours of sleep in me I'll sleep well tonight.

I don't know what the heck is going on. I've never had this much trouble sleeping before.

Now I feel like a zombie but I have to just deal with it. If I take a nap I won't be tired enough tonight to sleep.

Lately my left ear has been plugged too. The last four years that one seems to get plugged at least once a year. I don't get it, it's always clean, but there must be a wax buildup deep inside. It never happens on the right side.

I used this product called Debrox. Oh my, if you ever need to clean deep inside your ear, THIS IS THE STUFF. The first treatment doesn't feel like it's doing much, but it's softening up the wax in your ear. The following treatments are AWESOME.

As the liquid hits softened wax inside your ear it starts to fizz (which sounds cool in your earhole), then the bubbles start to tickle. It's like you got a crazy lil' worm dancin' in your brain smile.gif

After a few treatments all the wax is softened and comes out of your ear and you're back to new.

They actually recommend you use it occasionally as a preventative thing. Everyone's got ear wax they can't see. Especially if you're a que-tip user that's always packin' the stuff further back into your earhole.

Alright, now that I've officially shared TMI, I'm gonna shower and see if that wakes me up!

Carry on with your day peoples! smile.gif

Debrox.  I'll have to check that out.  Allergies sometimes make my ears itch, so I do use a lot of Q-Tips.  And sometimes my ears get plugged up.  I've got some swimmers ear stuff, but I'm not sure how well it works.

When I have water deep in my ear that seems like it will never come out or I can't get with myq-tip, I use a little hydrogen peroxide. That gives you the same fizz in your ear.

My husband has a big problem with excess earwax. Might have to check that out. He is always sticking q-tips and pen caps in his ears.

If you do try it don't worry if it doesn't seem like it's doing anything the first one or two times. It has to soften everything up. But then it goes to town. 3 - 5 drops per try is all it takes.

I've heard Hydrogen Peroxide is good to use on the ears Fuzzy, but I've never tried it. Is it a cheaper alternative? the DeBrox is about an ounce or two of liquid for maybe $5. But one bottle lasts for a long time.

Awwww, D's grossed out by earwax  smile.gif

Now if I were your big brother I'd have to post a big ol' picture of somebody with excessive earwax.  Or maybe a closeup of a bunch of earwax.

But I ain't yer big brother and even more importantly, I don't wanna see either of those photo's myself no.gif

So, I want to know how many people thought their ears were itching after reading JR's posts.

JR - peroxide comes in a big brown bottle and I don't think it is expensive. Sorry to say i can't remember the last time I bought a bottle. Maybe three years ago after I moved.

I had that done when I was a kid. Hmm. I wonder if it was the same ear giving me a problem even back then hmm.gif

That was pretty cool too, with the warm water flushing through your brain.

My aunt from Italy used to do that thing where she'd roll up some fancy paper (no drug jokes here please) and stick one end in your ear and light the other end on fire. It was supposed to draw the way out into the rolled up paper.

I read somewhere though that it's a crock. Yet I remember when she'd unroll that paper afterword it was disgusting with earwax, so I don't see how it can be a crock.

I never had my ears professionally cleaned, but I use q-tips daily. I made a vow but by the time I am 40, back to the doctor for check-ups once a year. I'll have my doc check out my ears and clean them if need be. Hey riggs maybe the wax is actually the size of a wiggly worm or two swimmin around in there, hey?smile

Phase one of water heater repair complete. I ran a hose outside and left the water on so the pressure would blast the gunk out of the bottom of the tank. Lots of lime in that thing.

Now, I turned the water off and its draining the tank into the floor drain. This will take a while.

Ear wax . . . since we are already TMI, I have super soft wax . . . almost liquid. I have to Q-Tip twice a day or they start buggin' me.

That must be like JR was just saying about his aunt. I guess the heat softens the wax and makes it eaiser to extrude.

I'm curious now. I think I hear pretty good. SOme of the high ends are lost. Or like when a song is playing on the PA in a crowded restaurant, I can't hear what it is all that well. I wonder if I got my ears cleaned if it wouldn't be like "OMG I NEVER KNEW I COULD HEAR THIS MUCH!!!"

Most ear candles sold in the United States are manufactured here or in Canada and retail for between $2 and $10. They can be made of linen or cotton (often unbleached, as practitioners claim that chlorine is bad for the ears) soaked in wax or paraffin and allowed to harden.

My aunt never had the little drip tray they show on the picture, I wound up with more wax from the candle and the paper on the side of my head than I care to remember.

Also, they say there's NO way this could actually draw out wax. The stuff we'd see on the paper was supposedly wax from the paper that was curdling up I guess.

After about the third or fourth treatment of DeBrox my ear pops and things almost sound too loud.  I'm just finally hearing normal again.
