that's pretty much what we say these days. We just can't escape it. This time the people upstairs plugged there kitchen sink and then ran the dishwasher. The dishwasher water then ran into our kitchen. I had suds streaming down the wall and cupboards. The closet that just got fixed has wet carpet again. The water also ran into the pantry. The physical damage was not as bad but the emotional damage is severe. We have had it. This time it was not the complex's fault but we have not had one wk in 5 wks where we have not had to have maintenance out. We cannot fully move in because of all the problems. Unless the offer a great deal of compensation, I fear we will be moving one way or another. I don't want to move but I don't think there is much more we can take. cry
This will have to be on hold though because I don't think we can see the property mgr until Tues.

Well those people upstairs should be held fully responsible for any damages and repairs.  This sounds like it's all on them.

That's the one thing that makes me nervous about not being on the top floor.  Any plumbing problems above me can become my problems in a real hurry.  And I seem to have to dufusy young guys living upstairs.

So we went to talk to the apt property mgr yesterday. We asked her if she knew what had happened to us. She said that she did and that she at first thought that it was our dishwasher that flooded and then found out later that it was upstairs. It seems that are neighbors ARE idiots. They plugged their dishwasher with spaghetti not the sink! Which means they don't rinse their dishes before putting them in! So how many of you wanna bet this is gonna happen again?

Anyway she says she is gonna give us a few days off rent. My husband made a point to ask her where maintenance job stops since we were left to clean up the water mess again. She looked puzzled because she said we should have never had to do that. All the kid did was turn off the dishwasher upstairs and left. She said she was gonna have a talk with him. My husband stated that if this were to happen again that he did not want us to be left in that position again. She agreed and for once was very pleasant. She is a person that always acts as if she has a stick up her butt. We'll see what happens I guess.

oh and I think she is sending the guy out to clean the carpets again.

the first flood was bad and some of my husband tools, including a car battery charger was sitting in about 2 inches of water when we discovered the leak. We don't know if it works or not. Some of his tools have rusted. yes we have renters insurance but we have a $500 deductible so it's not worth it to report.

The 2nd flood ruined some boxes in a drawer but they only were holding ziplock bags.

I'd say the tools are valued at over $500 , and put in a claim, they shouldn't have gotten rusted, and if you didn't have the flood they wouldn't have.
