Anyone remember this segment from the Arsenio Hall show (from back in the day)??? "Things that make you go "hmmmmmm........."
I'll start!
Did you ever notice that after 4 consecutive days of 4 degree weather, that 11 degree weather seems downright balmy??? An 7 degree difference seems twice as significant when you are talking about below freezing temperatures than warm and balmy ones. The differnce between 78 degrees and 85 isn't that significant if the humidity is in check. Hmmmmmmm.....

got NO RESPONSE to this thread from way back in January!! Anyone else ever notice SOMETHING/ ANYTHING that makes them go "hmmmmmm"? Like why does orange juice taste good before your brush your teeth in the morning, but after you brush your teeth, and your mouth is clean, it tastes ABSOLUTELY horrible!?!?!
Not necessarily looking for answers to the questions, just the big questions in life themselves...

Here's one for you- If you are on Death Row and are walking down the isle to the electric chair and have a heart attack...why do they try to revive you?

Here's another one, cats always land on their feet, right? And it seems that when you drop a piece of peanut buttered bread, the peanut butter side always hits the floor.
If you tie a piece of peanut buttered bread (peanut butter facing out) to the back of your cat, and shove it of the table, which side is gon'na hit the floor?
Ever get the feeling when you hear the standard "we have the best employees in the world" speech from a CEO or company owner, that they are not so much complimenting the employees as much as patting themselves on the back for being smart enough for hiring the best employees in the world?

we have a client (rob) who was employed with another client with whom we do business (gus);
rob has retired from gus as a employee, but now works for gus as a sub-contractor.
we are utilized by gus as a commodies management service -- we pay their bills with the understanding that invoices are due upon receipt and we don't pay those bills until we receive payment from gus. (follow me?)
when rob was employed by gus, he would take forever to release our invoices for payment leaving services rendered but bills unpaid sometimes for months (no joke).
but now that rob is a sub-contractor and has to invoice us to get his money from us after we get it from gus, he calls constantly wanting to know when we will invoice gus, so he can get his money in a timely manner...
makes a difference when it's rob's money we're playing with!
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I have a guy in my testing group who has been pestering me all day long about auditing the announcment files on our network. Okay, so I did that... I found a few oddballs that I had questions on. I asked him. He told me I would need to talk to engineering... HMMMMMMMMMMMMM... then why the heck are you asking me to work on this if you don't know what the heck you are asking me to work on??????

Here's another one... When adding new switches into our network, one of the things me and my co-workers have to do is audit the switch settings to make sure everything is correct to process calls. When we find things that are incorrect, what do we do? We have to advise another group to have them reset! Why? Because a) they won't go audit these settings themselves and b) they won't let us do the updates because we might break something. Makes sense, huh? It's all good until we advise them of the list of settings that need to be reset then they come back and ask us what to set them to! Now, if I'm telling them something is wrong, and I have to tell them how to make it right... why I can't be allowed to cut out the middle man and just do it my own friggin self?!?!?!?!
