I'm Missing A Myspace Friend

Just signed into Myspace and realized JR is no longer my friend.  I know you said you were thinking of deleting your account there.  It looks like you did.  sniff.gif
First it was Web, now JR is gone too.  It's a sad day for Myspace.  cry

My daughter told me Facebook is a lot better than Myspace.  I haven't tried it yet, but am thinking of signing up just to compare them.

I'm on both. I have different friends on each, so I doubt I'll dump either any time soon.

I'm also on WindowsLive, but I haven't used that in a really long time.  The only feature they had that I really liked was WindowsLiveWriter.....I could write blogs while not being signed into Live and post 'em from any computer.  I used that quite a bit when I first signed up for WindowsLive.  Now, I don't have anything to write about....at least nothing of interest to others.  hmm

I can't imagine creating FaceBook... like JD says, Myspace is enough.

My daughter told me that Facebook was for college / high school students... and you had to be a student to have it. I guess she lied to me about that one...LOL

I miss Riggs too, I wish he had warned me... I hate the empty spot it creates on the friends section of your MySpace friends. cry.gif

'tis true.

I followed in the footsteps of my hero Webdude and finally deleted my account.

I really, REALLY hated MySpace on some deep level. I'm not even 100% sure why, but I think it had something to do with just reminding me too much of high school.

The only two things I'll truly miss are being able to see friends and families photo's when they post them, and reading peoples blogs.

Sandy, your ghost story blog is still my all time favorite! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I loved Woo's randomness in her blogs too. Never knew what you were gonna get, might be a deep, deep thought or it might be a broken nail. biggrin.gif

I've considered Facebook, but I think in the end this forum and my email are the only social-networking I need in my life.

You have a couple self-standing blogs too right MZ? Or do those just duplicate what you have in MySpace?

I've read your dream blog a couple times since I signed up for Twitter.

I really need to decide what I am doing. Either way the MySpace page I have will be deleted. I can't stand having to censor myself due to family insisting that I add them. But should I make a new one? I'm trying to figure out if I don't go to MySpace much because I know certain people are on it or if I'm just done with it. hmm

Oh I KNOW!  With such an active environment I'd love to see what they'd find.

Another good show on cable is called A HAUNTING, they take a story like yours and re-enact it, USUALLY in the actual location.  You could have submitted your story, I bet they'd have done it.  It was more compelling than anything I'd seen on the show yet!

I'll give you this, you stuck it out a lot longer than I would have.  First sign of a ghost and I'm packed up and out the door biggrin.gif

I don't use the MySpace blog any more.  I only have one blog now, blog.hartzdesign.com.  The dream blog is my only blog, though I still put a lot of other stuff on there than just dreams.  I'm pretty proud of updating it on a regular basis now.

Another thing I don't like about stuff like MySpace is how one or two people can ruin your page, yet if you want to drop them it can turn into a big deal and cause hurt feelings.

One of my "friends" had a really filthy mouth, and I was sick of coming to my page and seeing her comments, bulletins and updates filled with F-bombs and other select words and terms.

And just for the record, that friend is no one from here.  I'm sure everyone has at one time dropped the f-bomb, as have I.  But this person it was part of their daily language.  They couldn't complete a sentence without a curse word in it.

It's not a nice day, it's a nice f'in day.

I was afraid to tell anyone that I was really scared to live there......I figured everybody would've said I was nuts; things like that just don't happen.  Well I beg to differ, but they most certainly do!!!  There was other stuff that happened too that I didn't include in that blog.  It was too frightening to even write it down.

Which is why I have my comment section set to where I have to approve all comments before they post to my page.  I also have my page set to private....people have to search for me to find me.  It keeps the weirdos away!smile  I had a few of them stalking me when I first signed up......adios amigos!!...they're now blocked. biggrin

What?!?! You left out more details?!?!?! Can you tell me?? Now the curiosity is gonna kill me!

I guess if you've never had it happen you could find it hard to believe. I've never had a first hand experience and quite frankly never want to, although my sister saw my Dad and I believe it was real, she also had an experience just before he died that was kind of col. That makes me happy because it gives you more faith in an afterlife.

I've mentioned it here before, but I am SOOOOOOOOOO paranoid the first few days in a new apartment it's crazy.

I have to sleep facing the door of the bedroom because I know I'd die of a heart attack on the spot if I were laying in bed and heard the door creak open. My last apartment was really old-style looking, and it took about four months before I could sleep comfortably at night.

Unfortunately I'm a man with many fears. Heights, Insects, Ghosts, the possibility of JD one day rising to some level of power. It's really something of a miracle I can get out of bed in the morning. hmm.gif

It all boils down to the reason I have MySpace is I actually love to listen to all the musicians out there. I have posted this before. I just go on and type in a musician (local or bigtime) and listen. The unknowns are my absolute favorites. I love their songs, there are so many talented unknowns out there, I can do this for hours at a time!

I kept trying to delete my MySpace account, following their instructions and it said i would receive a "validation" e-mail then I would be deleted...but it never came and as faras I am aware I am still on there...but I daren't go and look ...
Is there another way to delete my account..or have they deleted it for me....I can never remember my login stuff anyways.....

That's VERY true D.

That's where I first found Dan Shafer, who I really like and added to the station. It's also where I first heard Taylor Swift.

Even established acts, I'd never have known Loverboy had a new CD if it weren't for MySpace.

I still have the FFR page, so I can search for musicians through that.

Ok, here's one of several things I didn't put in it for obvious reasons:

One night I had just gone to bed....hadn't fallen asleep yet.  I was facing the bedroom door but felt like I was being watched, so I turned my head and there was this guy standing there on the other side of my bed.  He had dirty blonde hair, wore glasses, had on a torn, dirty white t-shirt and jeans.  He was holding a butcher knife up in his hands, like he was all set to put it in me!!!! Even my dog saw him cuz he was barking and growling at him.  Scared the h*ll right out of me.  I didn't sleep at all that night.  He was a solid form too, couldn't see through him....looked like a real person standing there.

I'll have to pm you some other things.  I won't put them here.  I don't even like to think about them.  I'm just glad I got outta there safely.
