LS might appreciate this; did you ever wonder who was behind the music of some of the classics? In the 60's there was a group of musicians that was known as the Wrecking crew that played on most of the tracks of the 60's.

Sometimes, when i'm lonely... i crawl into a laundry basket and tickle my ears. But, Some times I don't...
I have some bass lesson DVDs from Carol Kaye. She was part of that bunch although she claims that they were never "The Wrecking Crew" during the time. She says that name came later.
Carol is quite a character, I visit her forums now and then. She knows it all and any method other than hers is wrong and she will go out of her way to let you know that. She is a good bass player and teacher, and she was playing at the time when electric bass was new so there were no "rules" yet. She had to develop her own methods and style to create the sound they were looking for.
She's really an interesting woman, but her personality also makes it difficult to want to be around her.
Just as an example, when you order one of her DVDs you get pages and pages of photocopied info about her. Magazine reviews, stories etc. You also get pages of photocopies of her log books from the 60's that shows her studio dates and songs she worked on. She deserves respect for what she's done, but its hard to give that to her because she demands it right up front.
