Your first love

So while I was away, I found my first real love on myspace. I was shocked to find him so easily and even more shocked that we have emailed each other. He is in Arizona designing guitars and amps for Fender. Gosh what a great job! I do not know much more except that he is married and has two kids- one is 18. So that means not too long after we split up he was a dad. Anyway, he really is my first true love and holds a special place in my heart. So special that I feared contacting him might have ruined my memory, but right now the memory is still strong and sweet. I do not know that we will keep in touch, but I am glad that I know he is alive and that I got to share with him how I felt and still feel and also that he turned out ok. His myspace picture is ironically one of the few I still have of him, the boy's dad destroyed all my love letters and pictures of him. He thought it was funny that I thought he still looked like that.

We met the summer before I moved here and after high school. We were madly in love as much as 17 year olds can be and my father hated him- long hair. But we had fun and laughed and shared more than anyone else I have ever loved. Unfortunately the long distance thing proved too hard and neither of us could move to be near each other, so we split. But I never stopped loving him because I never had a reason to! Okay enough of the sappiness....

So how about you? Maybe you are with your first love, maybe you are still looking! Do you have a story?

I had a "girlfriend" for a couple years. As much as 9th and 10th graders can be boy/girlfriends. Since I lived out in the country and couldn't drive, we never even really dated. We mostly just hung out together at school and events that we both happened to be attending. So, I don't think she was my first love.

I know I've told this story before but here goes again . . . When I was Jr in high school, there was a girl that liked me. I just didn't have the same feelings for her. I had a class with assigned seating where I was sitting by this "Lori" girl (I think it was biology). We were getting to know each other fairly well and I asked her what to do about this situation. I didn't want to hurt this other girl's feelings but I just wasn't interested in dating her.

Shortly after I had talked to Lori about the situation, it was time for the annual Valentines dance. The three of us where there. Lori decided to help me out and she said "Hey, I'll dance with you to keep you busy so (the other girl) won't be bugging you". And, thats what we did. By the end of the night, we were both having a great time and that night I asked her if we could go out on a real date.

That was 1983.

We got married in 1987. smile.gif

Well, I dumped the '66 that Fall. "Her" frame broke in half. As for the GTO. "Her" body was falling apart, "she" had a bad set of lung too.

Personally, I hate when guys say "Her" or "She". So, I've determined that our present car is a guy... Nigel.biggrin

I am an old fashioned guy, I had a lot of "girlfriends" through out high school but always found something wrong with them. When I got out of high school and started working I met this girl we will call " Mallycat" she was a girlfriend of a mutual friend of mine. Also she was the daughter of these people my boss was neighbors with. Long story short she was the only girl I have ever fell madly in love with. smile.gif

I don't tell my first love story much, because a lot of people don't believe me that it was love because of the age difference. I guess I just like older guys.

My uncle took me along to a birthday dinner for a few of his friends, and then we went to Borders to hang out for a bit. I really hit it off with his friend George. He was funny and we had so much in common. We started talking and became friends. One time we were at Barnes & Noble (yeah, I like bookstores), and the air was thick. After he got home, he emailed me and told me about "nose gravity". In the movies, when you can tell that a couple is about to kiss, or want to kiss, you can see the nose gravity. He said he could feel it that day. That's about the point we started dating.

But, he was in the next county over, and we knew we weren't supposed to be seeing each other, so we had to keep it secret. We wrote letters back and forth to keep in touch (I still have them all). Eventually, he started falling for a girl at work, and I was falling for Brian, so we broke it off.

The last I knew he moved to Florida with his sister to go to school. I've tried to look him up on the internet before, but haven't had a whole lot of luck.

lets see....I had the same girlfriend from 1985 until 1990 I think....her name was Clare. We used to call her Planet Clare, because it was the 80s. I saw her at a ballgame maybe 3 yrs ago & she still had her Planet Clare 80s hair. That was kinda creepy.smile.gif

That's great that you were able to contact him, Ruby.

I'm sorry that your pictures were destroyed. I just don't understand that stupid jealousy thing. And I don't understand anyone destroying pictures for any reason.  furious
