Supposedly, this works-

Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it "home" and are unable to digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, but it works and you don't have to worry about pets or small children being harmed. Not to mention this is a chemical free way to handle the problem that is also safe for the environment.

They make stuff- Andro I think it is called. Put it in our yard 3 years ago- no ants since! Fire or sugar!
