With the changes around here computer wise, I took one of my old computers and hooked it up to the TV.
I was using it for surfing the web, emails, listening to the station, etc. pretty cool.
But then I remembered how Netflix has unlimited online viewing with their $10 a month plan.
i checked it out and wow. Lots of movies and lots of TV shows you can watch online.
So the player is downloading now, I'm hoping it looks high quality on the TV. If it does, I seriously think I could save myself $65 a month by dropping cable. I watch so little TV these days. that would be a nice savings.
First up is the show HEROES. I've never seen a minute of it. netflix has the whole first season available for watching.
Fuzzy, go wash that mouth on your purple face out with soap...not make the play-offs? Step away from your crack pipe missy.
Riggs...The Packers,..."who cares?"...hello, were you raised by wolves? I am going to have to submit this to the board, but there is a good chance we won't allow you back here next may until you have done community service for that remark....I am thinking cleaning Lambeau and Miller Park latrines with you tooth brush.
Web, all the corn gets shucked here by August, and usually isnt on TV unless you watch the food channel. Boorrrrrrrring!
OK, gotta defend JR here, he said since he can't watch the Packers anyway, then he might as well not have cable. It's withdrawal since he won't be able to feed his addiction.
JR - I didn't know football was only on satellite. Perhaps you will get a few games on Fox or CBS. We can always have JD or Dylan tape you the game and by time it gets to you, you can watch it the following Sunday.
And I know there is still half a baseball season left. That is a lot of games. And so much can happen.
Also, since baseball goes through Sept, you will probably get at least the month of September in for the Packers.
Go Phillies! Go Eagles!

Here Here!
Thank you MZ. My loyalty to the Pack should not be questioned.
I was going to point out this same thing but never got around to it. My good friend Dylan would be great working for the paparazzi, taking words out of context and creating a stir over em'
I watched three episodes of HEROES last night on the TV via NetFlix, along with one episode of the Outer Limits which was black and white.
As for quality, I swear, the Heroes was darn close to the HD broadcast. Not quite there, but very, very good. Certainly better than analog shows I watch on the TV.
The Outer Limits was more like a typical analog show, but that's not surprising given it's age.
I guess what I'm saying is that if you hook a computer up to your TV and use it to watch NetFlix you will NOT be disappointed. I always assumed blowing an internet provided picture up to 47" would make it look like crud. It never looked all that great if I blew it up full size on my laptop. But I guess actual TV's just have better capabilities. You could never tell you weren't watching regular televisioin.
As for HEROES, I knew I'd like it, even though I'd never seen any of it. But wow, what an awesome show. I'm a little worried because I could see it turning into one of those LOST type shows that never seems to actually go anywhere, but hopefully I'm wrong (some of you undoubtedly already know the answer to this).
It looks like there will soon be another way for you to get Netflix on TV too, Microsoft have annouced a new interface for the XBox360 and on the preview video it show's people searching through netflix movies.
That would be huge for them! Lots of people have their XBox hooked up to the net and obviously the TV. Not a lot of people have a PC hooked up to their TV.
