I finally got to meet the new baby last night. She is adorable!! Since they're just a block away from work, I'm going to go over there for lunch too.
Today should be a fairly decent day at work (knocking on wood). It's the middle of summer when things usually start to slow down for me a bit. That's good, it'll help me get all the stuff I've been putting off caught up.
In sad news, you may have to add me in as one of the people who can no longer listen from work. I just can't keep the stream running. I'm still trying to find ways to work around it. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Here. I had problems getting to sleep again but once asleep, I slept good. But I keep yawning so definitely not enough sleep. Hoping to get payroll completely entered today. We shall see.

that stinks Mz.
Since you have been having other internet problems it's hard to say what the problem is. I hope it resolves itself.

I went to mom-in-law's house and picked up some stuff that is coming out here to the shop to be in storage for a while . . . I have a bunch more to go. I vacuumed the office up. I paid some bills. Now I'm here.
We tried two years ago to start the boy on swimming lessons and it didn't go well in the group thing. Last year, we didn't even try at all. This year we got him private lessons through the pool. He's got a high school boy/lifeguard as a teacher and last night went really well - yay!
I wish we would have checked into private lessons the first year. The group lessons are $30/week and the kids are all in a big bunch with the instructor saying "now do this" and thats about the extent of it. Its more of a "just show me you can do this so you can move on" kind of thing. The private lessons are $50/week and he's got his own teacher that is showing him, working with him only, and helping him get confidence in doing what he needs to do. For only $20 more, its more than worth the extra one-on-one attention he's getting.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled Tuesday.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
We can't lose another one, we just can't
I have no idea what to suggest though MZ. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it corrects itself.
Didn't you say it's ONLY us though? Do you use the Loudcity Player Page? That one seems to have the longest buffer of them all. Sometimes it takes over a minute for that one to shut down after the station has a drop.
I checked another Loudcity station, and I have the same problem. I usually use the Loudcity embedded player. I tried listening through Windows Media player, and have the same problem. I tried switching to the low bandwidth option, same problem.
But I'm still having no problems with Pandora. I get a couple drops during the day with Pandora, but when I listen to the station, I get a drop during nearly every song.
Web, I'm wired.
I've been told that our internet connection is tied to our phone system. So it's not as fast when several phone lines are being used, but spikes back up when there's no one on the phone. But I'm taking everything our ISP says with a grain of salt, because we seem to have problems when they claim we're fine. To me, when on the web, it feels like a bunch of drops. But usually it's in the afternoon and sporadic, and today I haven't noticed a lack of performance with the rest of my web browsing.
My theory is that somehow Pandora can recover from the drops and pull back up from memory in their player. There's got to be a way to make another player do that.
I haven't had time to search yet, I will when I get back from the store in a bit here, but if you have any time you might want to post something in the Loudcity forum.
the guy that sits on the other side of my cube (not squonk), is a giggler. he giggles. He's a big boy too. You'd think that maybe he'd use some of that bigness to play pro sports, or do something more manly than sit on the phone and giggle like a little girl.

What exactly does streaming do to a system? Why can't I listen at work...he connected internet saying "NO STREAMING"..... Web, why is that?
Anyway hey to you all. nothing new, I cut the grass last night, in 90 degree weather, went out and had a nice cheap pasta dinner w/ my daughter. and tonight I am getting free golf lessons at the golf course I work at.... (one of the perks of working there)
I'm single it sucks, but I'm making time for myself and doing things for myself.

You only have so much bandwidth available from your ISP.
For normal work, you request a page, it downloads and you're done. Meanwhile, other people are requesting pages and they are done. If you are the only one who happens to be requesting a page right at that time, you get the full available bandwidth to download your page.
A "stream" is a constant usage of bandwidth. Rather than load a page, stop ... load a page, stop . . . a stream will continously use a portion of the available bandwidth which leaves less for everyone else (and your own web browsing).
You know fuzzy, I'm never found the postal service to be very relianble.
Why don't you just send the check to me (I'm closer, so the PO should be able to at least get it this far) and then I'll drive it to NE. Make it out to me, I'll just write them a personal check when I get there.

JR - I already schedule the $375.69 payment to NC by EFT. I am only responsible for use tax there. Our services are not taxable. So that doesn't really help you out. And since the payment goes by EFT, no checks need be issued for your current state.
But nice try anyway.

feel like i should be saying good morning... but that's been here and gone...
SHE BOSS left me with a mess of payroll, but checks have been cut and everything is posted. now i've been informed that there will be a lay-off tomorrow and not to go hitting the gin. i said, no problem; and you don't hit the gin when i'm gone on vacation for a week and a half and my work isn't caught up...
well, hope everyone is having a nice day... i really hate missing two-fer tuesday's

No, I didn't get that memo. Are they forwarding the mail? I put that check request through on Friday. It is already in the system. It really is a pain to have AP take it out and change it. Plus I need new vendor information. I don't have time for that. I can't be late with the payment.
