That Toy I wish I Still Had

This site sells replica vintage toys like the one's we used to play with or got at a garage sale for a quarter.

Wow! It looks like most everything is original not replica!

my folks kept a bunch of stuff too in our old toybox. my grandpa made that toybox, so there's a sentimental tie there too. Now that my bro has a couple of young ones, they go in there & pull out the toys to play with. I see a bunch of old matchbox cars and still go "cool!!!!!" some of the toys they pull out are things I haven't seen in probably 30 yrs. What a timewarp. Oh my framed grade school diploma was in there too, what the hey? smile

lol yea a lot of this stuff is broke too.
we used to make cheap plastic model cars simply to blow up with firecrackers or shoot at with bb guns. weirdo kids.

At this point, with the younger kid, we just got to make sure he doesn't try and eat any of the stuff.smile

Yeah, my parents kept all of my toys too, when I take Little A to their house we play with my old toys. Of course I wish I still had a few that I decided when I was a kid I needed money for the swimming pool so I sold them at our yard sale. A while back I saw an Underdog toy that I used to have in a magazine that sold for $325.00 I think I got .10 cents for it. disbelief.gif

I left most of my old toys at my parent's house thinking "someday" I'd get them.

My brother had kids before I did. When visiting my brother, I've seen most of my favorite old toys there at their house ruined and destroyed.

I guess its my own fault for not getting them out of my old room sooner.

My mom saved a lot of my toys too.  It was really cool to see them again once I had my own kids.  I split up all of my Barbie dolls, Dawn dolls, and baby dolls between my two girls.  There are 2 Barbie's they were not allowed to play with (I put them away for the girls) because someday they might need to sell them.

My great-grandpa made me a doll cradle when I was 4; it's made from ash wood and each slat of the cradle was hand-bent....it was a replica of the cradle he slept in when he was a baby.  He also made a complete set of wooden blocks for each of us; all the corners were rounded down and each block sanded smooth, along with a box to keep them in; and a wooden train with a carrying case.....each train has 10 different pieces, complete with "coal" and "logs" and working wheels.  He was quite the craftsman when it came to wood working.   I was glad my mom saved all this stuff for me.  smile
