Web is a lost cause.  He spent four innings griping about how boring it was, how the fans weren't even interested, how boring it was (yeah, you're getting off easy hearing that one only twice, trust me).

Then he made some lame excuse about how the boy controls the TV so he had to turn it off after the 4'th inning was over.

AND THEN he had the nerve to tell me I have to watch half a Huskers game now!  no.gif

Web, Web, Web.  Apple Pie, Cheverolet and Huskers?  Somethings askew in middle America hmm.gif

Awe man . . . you forgot the chewing. Lots and lots of chewing. Then after the chewing was more chewing. Chew, chew, chew. Hours of watching dudes sit behind a fence, adjust their hats and chew on their cud.

Oh, yeah, and the 10 minute super closeup the Cards player licking his face clean with his own tongue . . . THAT was fun.

The Brewers perked up and scored six runs after you left.

I think your negative vibes were bringing em' down! furious

I think you may be right . . . just to be safe, I better not watch any more baseball . . . . I'm willing to do that . . . for the team.

I know how important your Huskers are to you, so I imagine you'll want the same from me this fall.

I understand. My streak of having never seen a down of Huskers football shall continue. hmm.gif

With football, you get action.

When there is no action, you get action via replays.

When there are no replays, you get cheerleaders.

In baseball, you get chewing.

And more chewing.

And spitting.

I didn't see quite as much adjusting as I remember last time I tried to watch baseball.

Maybe thats what the Cards player was doing while we had the close up of him cleaning his nose out with his tongue.

 Darlene,

It just stands to reason that if he develops a love of baseball he'll develop a love of the Brewers.  Come on!  We're AMERICA'S team!  clap.gif

Thanks, a bit better today. Here is a note to the wise. Call AFLAC. Seriously, call them. Did you know you could get a policy by yourself for as little as 10.00 per month? What is 10 buks, some spend that in starbuks for one day. If I would have had that disability insurance I would be better. You never know what may happen. One thing I have learned is that, there but the grace of God go I. I now know how people end up in trouble, homeless etc.

Part of me thinks that it is God teaching me a lesson in humility. One now that I know I desperately needed.

Says who?? You??? How come no matter what park or stadium the Red Sox play in as an away team more than half the fans are Red Sox fans?? America's Team..??? maybe the National league, but doubt it on the over all fan basis!

Half the fans?  Are you drunk!  You're not supposed to drink until AFTER work D!

A good sized portion of the country hates the Red Sox, NOBODY hates the Brewers no.gif

The only team that comes close to your claim of half the fans on the road being for them is the Chicago Cubs.  I was watching them play Arizona last night and you'd have sworn it was a home game.

The Brewers are America's team because America loves and underdog.  And in October David (that's us) will slay Goliath (that's you).

nana.gif

Sorry, but you know it's true.

So, the first part is true. No reason to dislike the Brewers. The second part maybe true. But I would like to think that Philadelphia has a good base of fans across the NL too. They pop up everywhere.

Yeah, I don't think Philly has many haters out there.

If you're payroll is under 120 million people generally don't hate on you.

Truth is I like the Red Sox and I think Darlene knows that. They battle the most hated team in baseball and really have no choice but to play money ball because they're in that division.

Now if they still spent ridiculous sums of money on their players even without the Yankees around, then I'd add em' to the teams I hate list.

JR won't have me now.

Web,  if you root for philly, you have to take an oath to boo santa clause and pelt him with snow balls....its tradition, right Fuzzy?

Notice the silence from Fuzzy's corner? She knows better than to take on Web as a Philly fan. She learned from my mistakes.

First of all, snowballs and Santa were Eagles fans and it was at least 700 years ago. Not all Eagles fans are stupid drunks.

Second of all, we all know that football fans and baseball fans are very different. Granted, there are crossover fans.

Third, I would gladly accept Web as a Phillies fan. I don't expect him to watch the game or discuss baseball in depth with me. Just knowing that he will say "Go Phillies!" and mean it is good enough for me.

And fourth, Web is already a part time Eagles fan. So there. He should root for all other Philadelphia related sports.

And did I mention that our indoor football team - Philadelphia Soul - will be playing for the championship this Sunday on ABC? Another minor sports championship in this city will not hurt a thing. We have quite a few. We can't help it our major sports always fall short.
