Ok, to get back to the burger, I haven't tried it yet but was wondering if it was any good. I agree with Fuzzy, the onion thingies don't look so good to me. Since it's BK, I wonder if I could get one MY WAY and leave those off??
I've always liked those onion thingies on burgers. they're not thick like onion rings, they really are more like those durkee fried onions you can buy in a can.
Mz, it must be terrible to have a corn allergy. I don't know if you've been asked and have already answered this, but are there any restaurants you can eat in? I know most menus will say if the food containts peanuts/peanut oil, but I've never seen one that lists corn. You must have to be very careful when eating out.
Food allergies suck. That's what I have. I am allergic to: Tomatoes, Melons, Citris Fruits, Beans, apples, pears, plums. basically all fruit with the exception of the tropical ones. I hate it.
Ghost, part of the problem is corn isn't always labeled as corn. In addition to the obvious ones, I can't eat anything with dextrose or xanthan gum. I also have to watch out for anything labeled as "vegetable", such as vegetable starch or vegetable oil. And there's a ton of maybes, like glucose, sorbitol, monoglycerides, and citric acid. Depending on my mood, I sometimes chance those.
Most fast food restaurants are out of the question. Some list their ingredients online, and I can sometimes find something to eat at them. Burger King is one of the worst ones, the only thing I can have there is a plain cheeseburger, with nothing on it and no bun. I can have the toasted club at Arby's, a veggie sub with bacon at Subway, and a couple sandwiches from Panera.
Sit down restaurants are a little easier. I am usually safe getting a baked potato. The less 'chain' the restaurant, the better the chance I have. I haven't had much like at places like Applebees, they even put something like italian dressing in their vegetables. Usually, if I stick to local restaurants and basics (like things without sauce), I'm okay.

I am so thankful I am not allergic to any food items. Probably why I am so chubby, I love food and it loves me.
And I thought I had a hard time because of allergies to eggs. I can't get a flu shot because the vaccine orginates in eggs. I also can't eat aged, sharp cheeses; I'm allergic to penicillin and those make me very, very sick.

I'm allergic to eggs too. Well, just the egg whites, but that's what most people are allergic to when they say they're allergic to eggs.
I'm not sure which part of the egg I'm allergic to; I've had the allergy to 'em since I've been a little kid. I ended up in the hospital with respiratory failure from them. It's really strange too because I can eat pasta, egg noddles, things like cake which have eggs in it, but I can't have an egg for breakfast, eggs in salads, or egg drop soup. Those will put me in the hospital.
I never liked eggs anyway, so I can't tell you the last time I had just plain egg like for breakfast or in salad, so I don't know what that would do to me. I'm just as allergic to eggs as I am to corn, which is only moderate, 3 out of 5 (with 5 being severe). But my doctor told me no egg noodles or cake or anything with eggs in it.
This made me think of a recipe. My husband makes a weird cake and I need to look it up to see if it has eggs in it. It's not a traditional cake. It's made all in one pan. It may have them though. It's been awhile.

See, that's what's so weird. I don't get why I can have those things and it doesn't bother me in any way, (at least not that I'm aware of), yet they tell me not to eat an egg. Doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm not about to push my luck and eat them.
Speaking of saturated fats, has anyone else noticed that Lay's potato chips just don't taste very good since they changed to using sunflower oil? I bought a bag recently and thought there was something wrong with them; found out it's because of the change in the oil.
I have an egg alternative though that I can use in baked stuff. I'm guessing, Ghost, that you just have less of a concentration of egg in baked goods, so it just doesn't affect you as much. It probably still does a little bit, but you just don't notice it.
