I've been a Mets fan since 1965 (my first game) so I can't rot for the Marlins, but the Rays are the closest team to us here in Orlando, plus I HATE the Yankees, so I root for the Rays a bunch....so far it's been a great season!
SG- I'm rootin' for the Marlins as my AL team. I'd LOVE to see em' go to the World Series. It's always nice to get fresh blood into the big game instead of all the usual players.
WEB- Top of the mornin' to you buddy. That late night Hot Pocket wasn't a good idea
For some reason I felt super productive today. I slept in late, but then we got up and took in the recycling. Then I went to Farmer's Market and grocery shopping. Then I decided I was in a cooking and baking mood. So I made peanut butter blossoms (the ones with the kisses in the middle), and the wild rice soup just got done. Soon, the cheesy potato soup that we're having for supper will be done, at about time the bread is done baking.
I think I'm going to goof off for the rest of the night though.
I got the grass cut. It normally takes me just under an hour. Today it took 2.5 hrs.
I had to bag the grass because it was pretty tall and Thursday evening, my neighbor thought he'd be helpful and he mowed about 1/4 of my yard with his rider. Normally that would be nice, but he has his rider set way too low which meant it was cutting off a LOT of grass and he left HUGE clumps of cut grass all over where he mowed. So, I had to bag that up.
My "fixed" mower wasn't fixed. It is acting exactly like it was before. I took it back to the small engine shop (hardware store) and the guy who worked on it was not there today. The owner could tell I was not very happy and he said they would look at it again on Monday at no charge this time. I told him that it was already past needing done and I asked him if he had a loaner mower. He said they don't but he had an old two cycle Lawn Boy there they had taken in on trade that I could use. So I took that. It was a piece of crap mower but it did get the job done 2-1/2 hrs later.
After lunch, I started purging from the basement. I busted an old couch into pieces so I could carry it out myself and also an old chair went. When I got everything out that that we planned, my little pickup was piled up pretty high. The dump scale said 560 lbs worth of purging.
Then, I cleaned and got the other batch of shelves put in place.
I am hoping the rain storms have passed. patchy weather here this afternoon. We are going to grill out a huge chicken breast stuffed with asparagus, mozerella, procuttio. This is a repeat of maybe 2 weekends ago? its that good.

Mrs Web is happy with what we're getting done, but I'm sure as she looks around at all the unfinished projects here she'd say getting stuff done is not really one of my talents either.
It was kind of a sad day for me. I threw out all my old Commodore 64 stuff. Computer, monitor, two disk drives, and boxes and boxes and boxes of 5-1/4" floppy disks. I bet there were over 300 disks. I spent a LOT of time playing with that stuff. I suspect that 1/2 of the disks are not even readable now and those old games would not be much fun for the boy after playing today's stuff.
Oh well, can't keep everything forever . . . but it was still kind of sad to see it go into the trash truck.
