It does mean alot to me, he and I had the same musical spirit, I might try to teach myself to play a little. For a guy that has three guitars now I should at least try. I probably will only keep this one with my special memorabila but I have to plug it into an amp at least once.

If you are interested at all in learning how to play but don't want to take "real" lessons, check out the eMedia Guitar Method computer software. I used the bass lesson and it was actually very good to help me get started. The cool part about this system is that it gets you playing along with songs on your computer right away which keeps it fun.
Thanks Web, does it work for lefties too? That has been my biggest reason I have never tried to learn I guess. But there are some guitar gods that are left handed. I just don't know where to start. I can't play right handed it doesn't register in the old brain pan.

Yes, its works for lefties too. My wife has the earlier version of the software and she's left handed. There is an option to have it flip everything for lefties too. I would assume this later version still has that feature.
hey sparky, this is kinda a bad pic, but if you can do this chord, you can do all sorts of rock stuff. its a rock power chord.
your pointer finger lies across all the strings, making a "bar". the other fingers go on the strings as shown (poorly) here. But you can do this all up and down the frets and can figure out all kinds of songs. Baba-O-Riely is one that comes to mind...
