Mmmmmmm food! Thanks Thumper!

I'm glad to hear that Mz!

I slept good surprisingly! I thought for sure I was gonna have nightmares about ghosts! evileye
Today is my last work day of the week. We got approved to have friday off. This weekend is my husband's family reunion where we camp out. So tonight after I get my haircut we have to come home and get things packed up. We will get up in the morning and head over to hubby's hunting property so he can try and kill some Autumn Olives (evil thorny bush thing) and then we'll head over to the park.

Good morning all!  Today is student orientation day at my youngest girl's high school.  Since she's away at band camp, I have to go to pick up her schedule, locker assignment, planner, and last year's year book for her this afternoon.  They had some kind of a printing error in the year books and had to send them all back last Spring; got a letter the other day saying they're finally in and will be distributed at orientation.  After I'm done there, I think I'm gonna stop in and get my hair cut.  I've been letting it grow out for the past few months, but I'm ready for some layers to be put back in.

Mz, glad the exercise put you in a great mood today!

Woo, have fun camping this weekend!!  Glad the nightmares stayed away.  biggrin

oooooooooo hi! nerd.gif

I might have to try the work out in the morning thang, I know I love that snooze button too much.

The river rhythms thing last night was nice. really chill and not overly crowded. The band Brother is really cool too- they mix bagpipes, digereedoos (know thats spelled wrong-sorry Jules) and heavy drumming and it becomes melodic pop music. really cool.

My grandson woke up at 2:20 this morning. He decided to chill with grandma instead of bugging mommy. We watched swimming. Lots & lots of swimming.

My question: How on earth does his toe fit so perfectly into my newly operated on navel???

Ow.

Howdy Folks,

Its 57 here this morning, high of 80 with more chances of rain. Supposed to be a high of only 74 and rain tomorrow. smile.gif

I slept really poorly last night. Just woke up A LOT, looked at the clock and went back to sleep. I'm gonna be tired today.

I found out last night that I have an out of town funeral on Saturday for my great aunt. This would be my only living grandmother's sister. I've never been close to her so this one is more of a "we better go" than "we want to go". I do feel for my grandmother though, its going to be hard on her.

Not much else to report from here. Just have to wait and see what develops today.

Their music sounds like it would be fun to listen to. smile We have a band here entirely made up of drummers; they call themselves The Titanic Bananas.  They drum on anything and everything.  They put on a really cool street show!

He was probably worried that we're gonna buy him some kind of cheap-o equipment that he just won't be happy with.

Yeah, that was it. smile.gif

It had nothing to do with ghosts, I was more afraid of cheap audio/video
equipment.

Morning all. yawn.gif I was in here on time this morning. And so was about everyone lse that was stuck here late last night. There are still some local effects of the huge fire up the street yesterday. I am sure it will feel like a long day even tough I have a ton to do.

Work on.

Mornin' everyone.

I'm a lil' grumpy today because my car continues to give me problems. I swear this is the second car that I've owned in a row that has eventually had to be traded in for the same problem. Stalling out for no apparent reason and the mechanics can't figure out what's causing it

I'm starting to wonder if it's the way I drive that does something to the cars. I have been told I have an annoying way of driving.

It's a big day today in my family. My sister and cousin have decided to go in on a duplex together. Their offer was accepted last week. Today an inspector goes though and if all is good they'll close on the 31'st. My lil' sis' is getting her first house!

Also, my Grandmother is leaving her home of 61 years to move in with my aunt and eventually my mother.

She's had alzheimers for years and it's been getting worse. She's been living along for seven years now and we're hoping having some people around will slow down the effects of the disease. She needs some mental stimulation. All she does is sleep (Be quiet Web evileye.gif).

In the summers she'll live with my Aunt and in the winters she'll live with my Mom. We're expecting today to be an emotional day for the whole family as a new chapter starts in the family. We're a very tight knit group, and probably had 20 big get togethers a year at Grandma's house. That won't happen as much now.

She doesn't want to leave her home either. But it's a bad, BAD neighborhood and with her Alzheimers we're all just too worried about her.

Hope you are all having a GREAT day! smile.gif

I can see that JR. Brian's family has a similar problem. His mom is all alone in the big ol' house that they moved into when he was 7 (they were a family of 6). She has dementia but not Alzheimers, but she would be better off if she had someone around.

Taking Webs place today are ya Ghost? evileye.gif

Yeah MZ, the last year she's gotten bad. When I pick her up to take her to church she would repeat herself five or six times on a 15 minute car ride.

Last year she left something in the microwave for 60 minutes instead of 6 minutes and forgot about it. The lean cuisine meal was a charred black chunk and the microwave was destroyed. She never even remembered after the burning smell. She called her son to ask what the burning smell in the house was. When we got there later and asked why it smelled and where was her microwave (my uncle had thrown it out) she had no clue.

She's also left burners on the stove until someone came over and found them that way.

She has been very depressed since my grandpa died I think. She always says she doesn't know why she's still here, she wishes she'd gone first. 7 years since he died, that 7 years of sitting around feeling down, doing nothing to keep her mind fresh.

I hope we can slow it down, but I do think she'll be in a home before long. hmm.gif

Yeah, I can understand her needing some company then.

My mother in law luckily can remember things, but she still needs an eye kept on her. At one point, "an angel" told her that all her food was poisoned and that she shouldn't eat it. She was taking meds at the time, but the "angel" told her they were poison too. She's a bit more monitored now and is taking her meds regularly, but I still think that having some friends might keep her from making up her own.

Yeah, you definately want to monitor something like that.

You hear a couple stories every year about someone with Dementia or Alzheimers just leaving their home and walking lost around the city.

I just hope my Mom can handle this. My Mom blames herself for everything. If something happens to my grandma while she's staying with my Mom it will not be pretty.

Sorry your grandmother is getting that bad JR.  It reminds me of our decision to put my granny in a nursing home.  After my mom died, she got really bad.  She lived alone in an apartment complex for Seniors.  One night around 1:00 in the morning, we got a phone call from the complex.  Granny decided to take her dog out for a walk, slipped and fell on ice and was lying in the snow, nearly frozen to death.  She had been out there in the snow and cold for hours.  She was lucky the complex's security was out making their rounds.

Years earlier, she made us all swear we'd never put her in a home.  She wanted absolutely nothing to do with them.  But she was so bad, none of us could give her the proper care she needed.  It was one of the hardest decisions we ever had to make.  She didn't live longer than 2 months after we put here in one.  I felt really guilty for a long time after her death for going against her wishes.

Oh man, that would be heartbreaking Ghost.

I know she REALLY, REALLY doesn't want to leave her home. Like I said, 61 years there, she's not happy about leaving.

The whole family is taking it hard because this was kind of the center of the families universe for as long as their was a family.

I just hope that in the long run she's happier, when she realizes it's nice to have someone around to talk to everyday.

Right now she sleeps 16 hours a day. getting up only a few times for 3 hours or so each.

The really sad thing is I have two grandmothers left. One of them is in very bad physical shape but still very much mentally fine at age 80.

The other (the one with alzheimers) is 80 but could pass for 60. She's in good shape phsyically but she's the one who's not doing well mentally.

It's cruel irony. hmm.gif The one who would like to be out and active can't because she's physically unable. The one who physically could be out doing things doesn't want to because she's got alzheimers.

Went out for cosmos' w/ my best guy friend Charlie last night, today I'm out of work early to see the nutritionalist.

After reading all these people who are up and exercising in the morning, I'm jealous!

Thanks JD.  She's SOOOOOOOOO excited.  They got a beautiful house in West Allis.  Just beautiful.  And a darn good price too.  This depressed market is a good thing if you're looking to buy right now!

The neighborhood is ok.  I'd say it's average for West Allis.  About 20 blocks from where West Allis starts to go downhill.  Probably not a place she'll want to be in 40 years, but for now it's perfectly safe and clean.  I think she'll be real happy there.
