Nah. My Mom was catching me up on my Grandmothers big move.
Kind of some cool news too, my uncle (her son) that lives downstairs thinks my Grandfather visited my grandma on Tuesday.
She has been really against this move. With the alzheimers she has kept forgetting it was happened, every time it's brought up she acts surprised and then upset that she has to move at all. My aunt, the one thats taking her in first has felt horrible because my grandmother has made it clear she doesn't want to go there.
Well, on Tuesday (which was the day before the 8 year anniversary of my grandfathers death) her son woke up to hear his dog barking like crazy upstairs. His dog is not a barker, she's a big lovable dog that really is well behaved.
He was worried something happened to my grandmother so he ran upstairs in a hurry to check on her and found the dog barking at the bedroom while backing away. The dog wouldn't stop for several minutes. My grandmother was sound asleep in the bedroom with the door open.
After the dog finally stopped barking and went and laid down my grandmother woke up. Everyone in the family said she's like a different person since then. She told my aunt she's excited to come stay with them. She called my Mom and told her she's looking forward to winter when she stays with her. She's like a different person.
This after almost a year of her fighting it and crying and the whole 9 yards. My uncle is convinced my grandfather visited her and somehow told her it was the right move to make.
I don't know if that's the case or not, but I can't tell you how big of a turnaround this is for her, and it literally happened over night. Besides being ok with the move she's actually REMEMBERING the move!
Wow JR, that's wonderful news!! Amazing!!! I bet he did pay her a visit; he probably knew she was really upset about the whole move, so he went to visit her while she was sleeping to reassure her it was the best thing for her to do.
About a month after he passed my grandmother was getting ready for church in front of her dresser mirror and she swears she felt him come up behind her and put his arm around her waist.
That's the only time she thought she felt him.
I'm not sure if he was there Tuesday or not, BUT it would kind of make sense. They raised 9 children in that house and spent their entire 50+ years of married life in it. This has all been so emotional for the family, and the sudden change on her part is just amazing.
The night of my mom's funeral, I know she came to visit me. I was so upset during her whole ordeal with cancer, and then when she died, I was a basket case. Anyway, I was really crying that night; it was actually the first chance I had to really grieve, and I felt her put her arms around me, hug me, and tell me that she was really ok now, her pain was completely gone, and she was happy, and she wanted me to be happy for her.
It really helped me get through my grief, knowing that she was happy and wasn't in any more pain.
That's VERY cool Sandy. I totally believe that stuff happens all the time.
I think I told you guys this before, but my grandfather and his brother were really close. They were always laughing and joking. Our trips to the cabin up north were a riot because those two basically put on a comedy show.
When my grandpa died 8 years ago his brother Mel was in a nursing home on oxygen, in REALLY bad shape, but he insisted on going to the funeral.
It was so hard to watch him. Ever step was a struggle. He'd take a slow step or two, stop, sob uncontrollably, catch his breath and repeat. It felt like it took him an hour to get from the front door to the casket, but it was probably 15 or 20 minutes (it WAS a really long time).
A few years later he was in the nursing home, very ill. His daughter was in the hallway talking to a nurse when to their shock mel came walking out of the room past them. The daughter told him he had to get back to bed but he kept pointing down the hall and saying "Frankie (that's my grandpa, his brother) wants to have a cigarette with me".
They got him back in bed and he died that night.
I believe he saw his brother, calling him to the other side.
Rock out Web! Oh, my daughter found some easy bass songs to play on the web the other day....she's teaching herself right now....she's been playing London Bridge. She says it's a start.

They say that happens all the time. My granny saw my grampa just before she died. I went to visit her and she told me grampa was down in the cafeteria having a sandwich. She asked me to do down and get him, there was something she wanted to ask him. Later that night, she died.
I'd like to sign her up for some lessons as a Christmas gift, but between going to school and her job, I don't know when she'd have the time for it. I wonder if they'd let me pay for them and she could use them next summer. I'll have to go out and talk to the music store people.

That's great news! Dreams can be powerful things. I believe dreams are in a way a spiritual gateway.
