I'm generally not very lucky. I should just throw my money at the people at the casinos as I drive by. I suck at lottery tickets too.

You know, we've talked about this before, but I've seen news stories and articles in the paper about people that can practically make a living off winning sweepstakes.

I always feel like there's no way I'm going to win so why bother.

But I really want to give it a try.  I think I'm going to make it a point to enter at least one sweepstakes every day.  You would think that with 365 or more entries in a year I'd win SOMETHING right?

Everyday pick one contest to enter, start a thread about it, and everyone who wants to can go enter.

Then we'll see over time how we all do.

this is where I sometimes wish we had forum categories. There could be a contest/sweeps section, sports section, etc

Then other times I hate to structure what we have because I think we are friendlier this way. But sometimes I think it would be helpful for those who don't care about certain topics.

I actually miss categories too.

I think for some things it would be very useful, like you said, the sweepstakes would be a perfect example, because then every sweepstakes could have it's own thread.

We could still do categories, because if someone just wants general conversation they can always bookmark it there.

But I think some people just don't like feeling as if they may be missing out on something.

If all the general conversation took place here though, and the categories were very specific and not something typically in general conversation, I think it could work.

For example, it's probably not best to have a sports thread, a movie thread, etc. Because that stuff, even though not necessarily interesting to everyone, tends to lead to other conversations.

But useful categories like "web tips" and "sweepstakes" where you want fast access to specific information could be quite useful I think.

I think I quit doing the sweeps listing because I wasn't sure if anyone really cared. Plus it seemed to get confusing if people didn't look at when the sweep expired. I guess that's why the categories thing popped in my head.

Well what I was thinking, was maybe just a daily topic. Someone finds a sweeps and starts the thread. we can discuss it, and that day if anyone wants to get involved they can, then the thread will sink off the page. I thought it would just be nice to have it buried on the forum so as we start winning stuff we can pull them back to look at them.

I'm all for the category thing too, but I just have a feeling most people don't like when we do categories. If I'm wrong, please speak up folks!

I'll try to find one for today to start us off, and to use as an example.

We could list the info in the title, then the post can give the details. Anyone who wants to enter could note in the thread that they did.

If we do that every day for a year I bet we'd all bring in some prizes!
