Morning. The meds helped my husband with his teeth problem but it is only temporary. He took extra meds though. But it is helping. I started feeling sick last night. Hard to tell if it's allergies or a cold. But I took a Benadryl and went to bed at 10pm and I'm glad I did. I slept good but I still want to sleep.

It sounds as if we are only gonna take Friday off instead of 2 days. I also got my rescheduled jury duty for 9/25-9/26. I'm hoping I will not have to report. These are the ones you call the night before and see.

Oh well Hump Day on!

allo! nerd.gif

last night when I was grilling out, I used the last of the charcoal, so went to the dumpster to throw out the bag. In the alley, a squirrel was walking with a chestnut. He was looking at me all "don't take it don't take it!" I actually said out loud "I don't want it dude". I started to go back up the stairs, and when I turned around, saw that the squirrel, nut stull in mouth, hopped up on my neighbor's jeep tire, and was peeking at me from beneath the wheel well. When he saw me looking at him, he ducked in. I repeated "I don't want it!!"

I certainly hope no one was looking or listening at me. they would have thought I was completely insane...

Happy Wednesday.

I got to the office this morning and found that my stack of newspapers and magazines had fallen over and off the desk in the middle of the night. I took that as a sign that its time to pick up and make a trip to the recycle trailer. So, I boxed up some paper goods, and crushed about 30 pop cans and I have a little breathing room around me again.

Another one of my kite friends called this morning to get the plan on who is coming when. It sounds like Sunday will be the best day for having my friends there. We've got good wind today, I hope its that way this weekend.

Hump on.

the garbage collection company slated to clean up the mess at the harley fest events here in town went on strike yesterday. Management says they'll have it handled tho. We'll see.
It look like a ton of trash was laying out on a main median strip leading to the stadium, where a few big HOG events are slated to occur. One guy was out there running his butt off trying to collect this garbage. Maybe he is the garbage collection vice president or something?

Morning all.  I have to go to the grocery store, head over to Lowes to pick up 20 lbs. of propane for the camper, then come home and pack up the camper.  We're leaving tomorrow morning.  I can't wait to get up to my dad's place for the weekend!

Hope everyone has a good day! smile

oooo got the teamsters out there to play a bit of ball. "Lets hand out leaflets en masse at an event where we won't be picking up the garbage."

Teamsters will leaflet Harley Reunion

The Waste Management walkout is now in its second day, and striking Teamsters plan on distributing leaflets and pamphlets to incoming Harley-Davidson riders, a Teamsters official said Wednesday.

Galen Munroe of the Teamsters said striking Teamsters would have a "presence" at major Harley reunion events around the area in order to inform Harley party-goers that the union is in a labor dispute with Waste Management.

An estimated 240 Teamsters walked off the job Tuesday morning, with the union accusing the company of unfair labor practices, coercion and intimidation of workers. The company has denied the charges, and says it is willing to sit down and bargain, perhaps with the assistance of federal mediation.

According to company spokesman Bill Plunkett, the main dispute covers the workers' pension plan. The company wants to offer an alternative pension plan; the Teamsters would prefer to keep the one they have with the Central States Pension Fund.

The workers have been without a contract since April 30.

On Tuesday, company officials brought in replacement workers and managers to handle trash collection in a six-county region. Waste Management has approximately 100,000 residential customers and 16,000 commercial customers in Ozaukee, Washington, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties.

Have a good time Woo! smile  Hey do you guys take 75 up?  What's that been like with all the construction on the Z-bridge this summer??  Or do you get on 23 to avoid it? confused

Just thought of something....you can't avoid it can you?  Doesn't 23 merge with 75 until you get past Bay City?

In about a 1/2 hour I will be attending a lunch and learn session in the upstairs conference room. the topic is Navigating Eldercare. My folks aren't getting any younger, and one day I will most likely need to assist them. maybe I can learn something here. and there's free lunch too.smile

Those seminars are helpful JD, not only for info on taking care of your parents, but also giving you ideas of how to safeguard your own assets when you get old too.  I've been to a couple of those and picked up some useful information.

Plus you get lunch!!  smile

I was hoping to gain knowledge of how to "do away" with the "problem" (just kidding!)
