DAYTON, Ohio - A mother was found guilty Friday of killing her month-old daughter by burning her in a microwave oven.
The jury announced its verdict in the retrial 28-year-old China Arnold. She was found guilty of aggravated murder and faces the death penalty when sentenced.
Arnold was accused of killing Paris Talley in 2005. A judge declared a mistrial in February.
When the verdict was read Friday, Arnold showed no reaction and then lowered her head, looking down at the defense table. Relatives in the courtroom cried and covered their faces with their hands.
Prosecutors say Arnold intentionally put her baby in the microwave oven and cooked the child to death after a fight with her boyfriend. Prosecutors say the couple had argued over whether the boyfriend was the biological father.
Also heard that the psycho that killed Dylan Groethke got the death sentence. They need to torture him and tape it first, like he did to that poor kid.
I'm no longer in favor of the death penalty, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm really glad that the people in charge of these respective states ARE in favor of it
It's one of those times were I'm glad I don't get my way, and when it comes to the death penalty that's pretty much always how I feel
I am glad you posted this. However, I am not happy that I read it. What a terrible sadness I feel. I simply cannot comprehend such inhumanity. I have the ability to become very angry, but such an act is incomprehensible to me. An argument was the catalyst. OMG. I do agree with the death penalty, in this case firing squad is appropriate. Lethal injection is too humane.
what was this woman doing as the child was screaming? I know you have heard the 'Pain' cry and it is agonizing. There is a show I watch sometimes. I am quoting a very short version of the intro.
"In this world, there is real evil......there are doors, when opened, nightmares become reality."
It's unimaginable CP. I remember posting the story here on the forum when it originally happened.
It seems like every few months something comes along that just set's the bar even lower for disgusting human behavior, but so far I don't think this one has ever been topped.
You know, I'm anti-death penalty for a couple of reasons, one of them is that I think in a situation like this death is too easy. Living with what you've done might be the better punishment, particularly when you'll be locked up for your lifetime with nothing better to do than think about what actions put you behind bars.
Of course, that's assuming the person who carried out the act is capable of remorse, and in this case I doubt she is.

I don't see how you could unintentionally put a baby in a microwave unless you had dementia or something. This story still makes me sick

I can see the argument for forcing someone to live with what they did, but someone who is capable of doing something this repugnant to a baby would not fully appreciate the scope of their own actions enough to be remorseful or tortured by it.
My opinion... The death penalty should apply, but kindess in the matter should not apply. I think people who do such gruesome things should be treated in a like manor. Everyone worries so much about their rights...well, what about the constitutional rights of the person or persons they tortured and murdered? Why should they be treated better?

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
bullets are cheap *** firing squad *** a rope is probably cheaper *** public hanging ***
perhaps if we went back to public executions as a punishment for such horrible crimes, then just maybe, people would think twice before they act on impulse.
then on the other hand, it makes me wonder if some people are actually born evil, or if every evil is learned.
