Fuzzy? Baseball?

Fuzz,

I realized something disturbing this weekend.  We really can't root for each others teams anymore!

I need the Phils to lose a BUNCH of games so we can secure the Wild Card.  hmm.gif

You should feel the same, I'm sure you still have your eye on the division, but if the Brewers start losing you could be assured playoffs with the wild card.  I think we're the only two legitimate threats for it.  St. Louis is tailing off pretty bad.

Personally I'm a little worried about this road trip coming up that takes us through Philly, Chicago and Cincinatti.  You guys are a big hitting team, Chicago owned us in the last series we played, and for some reason we just don't ever see to play well against Cincy.

I came to that realization a long time ago. I am also still sticking with my 'if the Phillies don't win the division, they won't make the playoffs' quote. They have been struggling badly. They should easily be four or five games in front of the Mets. If they hadn't blown the first two against the Cubs on Thursday and Friday, it would be better. They Phillies aren't hitting, let alone hitting at the key moments. They mainly have division play left. The only exception is when you guys come to town. The Phils and the Mets play this weekend for the last head-to-head regular season meeting. I need the Phils to get their butts in gear and tear up the division. They need to beat the Nationals the next two days. The Nats may be in the basement, but they are on a roll and usually give the Phils trouble. We have six to play against the Marlins and Braves. Four against the Brewers. Three against the Mets. And I think there are five against the Nationals yet.

It is going to be a tough road. I can deal with the Phillies losing in the playoffs, I just don't want the Mets to win the division.

Um, JR. I know it is still kind of early in your game, but could you kick the Brewers in the azz and get them going please? It helps both of us if you win.

Ugh. So disheartening.

I'll tell you what. Prince Fielder is not the stud he thinks he is. I hope we trade him next year. He's a Scott Boris guy anyway, and he's got a crappy attitude. I say ship him.

These stupid Mets are hitting everything we throw up there. Meanwhile this rookie pitcher we're facing is bending but not breaking.

We have been there. Hamels is pitching a nice game right now. Phils are up 4-0 in the top of the 8th. I just wish the bullpen hadn't blown those two games to the Cubs last week. That also would have helped us and you.

If we lose and you win our wild card lead is down to 4.5 games :(

Oh, and yeah. I have never cared for Fielder. He does have that smugness about him.

If we could have helped with the Cubs, you would be closer to them. Then you could chase them. In the meantime, if you lose and we win, we stay one game back of the Mets.

He's a real jerk. He was Mr. team when he was having a big year last year, but this year his true colors are coming out. He's upset he didn't get a bigger pay raise in the off season, started the season pouting and has never gotten going since.

Most fans are no longer behind him. This is Ryan Brauns team now. He's the best gamer I've seen since Yount and Gantner.

Our starting pitcher hit a two run double. 5 - 3.

WHAT is with that annoying little hand gesture Met's pitcher Nelson Figueroa does after every hitter's at bat is done.

It's really annoying.  I thought he was signifying one out, but then he did it to the catcher after Fielder walked.

You can't lose here Fuzz.

If the Mets win you gain on the wild card, if we win you gain on first place.

I LOVE when we have teams in our division in that position. Like when the Cubs play the Cards.

I am okay with the Brewers beating the Mets.

If necessary, I will give the Brewers the evil eye later in the month.

I still have to get used to actually BELIEVING in this club.

I've been let down so many times in the past, I always figure we're inferior to everyone else. But time after time this season they have shown they are resiliant and indeed a very good team. This is the first time in a LONG time that I can't recall us going through any kind of extended slump all year.

We started the first two months playing 500 ball, but never really tanked. Since then I'd say our worst stretch has probably been losing 3 out of 5, but then we follow up with a nice win streak.

You have to admit that it may just be that Sabathia is the key right now. Ever wonder where you would be without him?

Oh believe me, they've broken it down every which way to show where we'd be.

But you can't measure his effect on the bullpen and I think that's where he's really helped. Since he got here our pen isn't getting nearly as much work and as a result they're doing MUCH better.

BUT, in games he doesn't start we're about 12 games over 500 since he got here, so we're holding our own. Expecially considering Sheets has generally sucked since CC got here.

All our competitors (Cards, Cubs) are commenting on how we'll go back to sucking next year. I think they're in for a rude awakening.

Sheets is over-rated.

We'll have Gallardo, Parra, Suppan, Bush and I'm sure we'll go sign a decent starter or two. No, we wont' have as good a staff as we do now, but we'll have a staff good enough to win behind the lineup we put on the field every night.

Phillies win!

And the Brewers are young and will continue to grow and play together.

Not looking good. Parra immediately put two men on with no one out. Now we go to our bullpen which is always worrisome. They've been better, but still our biggest weak spot.
