I have another appointment to have my knee looked at.  The doc thinks it might be ligamental in nature or a meniscus tear (cartilage).  He wanted to wait until some of the swelling went down.

My doc is an old fashioned doctor.  I am still waiting for him to bust out the leeches and bleed the bad mojo out of the knee.

His prices arent old fashioned though.

Good luck D! My husband had to have knee surgery. Guess what? He probably needs it redone. I hope you don't need it.

Good luck~I had my ACL reconstructed in both of my knees...knee injuries are no bueno! I hope everything turns out alright though!

Thanks everyone. 

Had another therapy seesion.  The tribal witch doctor said sometimes a cartilage tear takes a little while to be ruled out.  I go back Friday and if there isnt enough improvement, its MRI time.  Still thinking Ligament sprain...but the jury is still out.

No leaches were harmed during this therapy seesion

Fuzzy, what was the procedure for your cartilage tear?

Holes in my knee. Four small hole to be exact.

The MRI is your best option to rule a tear in or out. I was lucky enough to tear cartilage on both sides. Naturally one side was much larger than the other. I also have a small tear in the ACL.

I did rehab to strenghten the knee and ligaments before surgery. Plus, I had to wait for the swelling and stuff to go down. Mine was pretty bad. The doctor even stuck a needle in my knee to drain some blood and fluid. It was a huge needle and he probably could have done it again with the same results. I was coaching at the time, so you know I pushed surgery back unitl after the season was over. Results and rehab will depend on whether they repair the cartilage or take it out. I had one of each. The tiny tear they just snipped out. As for the large tear, they stiched it together. Because they did that, I spent six weeks in an immoblizer and on crutches. Generally, you begin rehab exercises right after surgery.

I got the MRI results back...I didnt speak to the doctor, just his nurse.  She confirmed there is a dominant tear to two cartilages.  She gave me the name of a surgeon to make an appointment with. 

I have been walking on this thing for over a month!  I am an idiot.  Just too tough for my own good I guess. smile

Thats why you need to ask the surgeon: "Will I be able to clog dance when this is over?"

Then when he says "yes", you can say: "Great, because I never knew how before!"

Web, I guess you might have missed the sarcasm....If I clog danced, I would ask him to break the other knee just to make sure I could never humiliate myself thusly EVER again.
